Looking for free screen video recorder

    I want to create video tutorials for my blog and need a free screen video recorder that I can add sound to with me talking people through it.

    Any help appreciated, thanks:)

    I do like that you can add text and allow the person to click to continue. I am not sure if Camtasia can do that.

    Thanks for your suggestions, I decided to use Camstudio and have set it up with the right codecs to make it run smooth.

    Hopefully people will find this thread useful on their searches.

    they will and amtasia is best choice I use it for tutorialcreation myself ( you should ad a watermark on your tutorials, to prevent them from beeing riped)

    just for the record, VLC can capture any screen, at any frames per second, and encode it into a BAJILLION different formats with different resolutions, and it does it all free and open-source, on any modern operating system.

    It's obviously not the best solution ever as there are wonderful apps like Screenflow for the mac and Camtasia for windows which let you do some editing and effects, but sometimes VLC is just what you need, and once you get used to using it on one OS, it works the exact same way when you find yourself at any other computer out there.

    I am using two video screen capture software right now, Infallsoft's Screen Capture(which is a freeware) and Snag It 9.
