    Read this: http://www.solarnavigator.net/sponsorship/coca_cola.htm
    -----------
One of the most famous examples of a trade secret is the formula for Coca-Cola. The formula, also referred to by the code name "Merchandise 7X," is known to only a few people within the company and kept in the vault of a bank in Atlanta, Georgia. The individuals who know the secret formula have signed non-disclosure agreements, and it is rumored that they are not allowed to travel together. In the past, you could not buy Coca-Cola in India because Indian law required that trade-secret information be disclosed. In 1991, India changed its laws regarding trademarks, and Coca-Cola can now be sold in that country.

Trade secrets are very different from patents, copyrights and trademarks. While patents and copyrights require you to disclose your information in the application process (information that eventually becomes public), trade secrets require you to actively keep the information secret. Trade-secret protection can potentially last longer than that of patents (20 years) and copyrights (100 years). Some of the ways to protect a trade secret are as follows...

    ---------------

    And here:
    - http://www.cio.in/features/viewArticle/ARTICLEID=4194412
    - http://query.nytimes.com/gst/fullpage.html?res=9F0CE2DD1730F930A35756C0A965958260
    ----------
Coca-Cola's attempts to keep the recipe secret are matters of legend -- it pulled out of India in 1977 rather than divulge its formula to the Government. But Mr. Pendergast, a former librarian, writes that he was allowed to copy what appears to be the "original formula" from the tattered remains of Mr. Pemberton's records.
    ----------

Just a rumour, eh :)? And you had Google to help you find these...

Curiously, I do understand what americans are speaking...and I'm not an american nor british :)....

You're right...chinese accent is also hard to understand...I haven't heard Israeli yet...

You didn't understand...there's no indian language per se...Tamil, farsi, urdu are languages spoken in India...but there no indian languange like you say there is french language, or italian.

The same for Switzerland...there's no Switzerland language...but in Switzerland they speak french, german. You understand now?

You might experience recession in high-tech, yeah, if they would pull out...

Hehe...you know where Nokia is building a new plant?? Right in Romania, my home country! And just because the same reason it works in India...

And because Nokia came in that town (a town from Romania) other companies came. Mercedes is planning to move there a plant from Germany...the quality of people's life increased, they got good paying jobs...the land increased its price,etc,etc...so I guess for that small town Nokia investment was good...and for Romania was good because the government will collect taxes ;)...

And here we come...hehehe...India's middle class is expanding...too fast...they buy cars...too fast...and I guess those cars aren't running on water, are they?? Hence, the rise in oil price...

Come on, don't tell me each indian have a PC at home :)...I bet not every american has a PC at home...you are over 1 billion...and one of the objective of Bill Gates is to reach 1 billion computers with Windows on it (of course, legally)...you forgot about Chinese who are even more than you...

You really don't get this things called "globalization"...you are not alone...no economy can survive much time alone...you exchange with other nations...you don't have it all...and even you would have it you don't exploit all.

Whatever happens in some parts of the world affects you...the oil price affects you as it affects us...you are not in a golden cage...be real.

Yeah...you may create another Google killer..hehe..maybe..and good luck for you! You will need a ton!

You really don't read what I write, do you?
I said India COULD become Cuba if they start banning...I'm saying it again: COULD (there's a difference between COULD and IS)...

Nothing is for free...even in India...water has a cost (it needs to be transported on pipes, needs to be cleaned, etc - it doesn't just come from Gange :) directly in the bottles).

Besides sugar there are other ingredients for Cola...but that is a trade secret :)...

They didn't used pesticides in '77 when the indian government asked for the formula...maybe later...

"Exact Colas" ? hehe...we had companies in Romania which made "Cola"...but it wasn't the same even if it had Cola in the name :)...

Aaa...brand value...which means creativity established in years and years of work and marketing...you think you can replace that just like that??

Pakistan was once part of India :)...but because it was mainly muslim population they decided to separate...and thus you had war...I do know something about that...

Bit a lazy!the first one you said may be correct because India had leaning towards socialism/Communism in 1977 ( a different kind of setup and emergency was there in 1977) but in 1991 inorder to develop economy we allowed industries to set up!So only we amended laws but it's not that we amended laws for Cola (No one can be sure about this as it involves deadly combination of bureaucrats and Politicians

India is name that was given by british to (Bharat/Hindustan), So you can't expect a language called Indianese...

Hindi is one or more ways refer to Hindustan and infact Hindi is understood and spoken by most of the people in India... (Even though their mother tongues are different)

Most of our languages are interlinked

Who said water has a cost? In my hometown (Madurai)Government is providing free water supply we can use as much as we can (drinking water separate) but the same can't be said about metropolitan cities

If we are going to talk about India do n't talk about politicians(Government is run by Politicians) they are ruining our country

Yes, and you bought also some steel mills ...and you also developed the cheapest car ever...let's see how you manage that.

Hopefully, we will live that time when Infosys will buy Microsoft :)...

In the end all it's good ;)...

And that's good you woke up from that communist experiment which ruined my country at some point in time...

Oh, you you say your government gives free water to Coca cola :)? Thousands of tons of water for free? Sounds like a paradise for companies there to get free water...in many other parts of the world the companies have to pay...

Aaa...you are talking about normal consumer, regular people? Well, then that may be true...but the regular consumer is not a company...

We understand globalization. But US is not the only country. There are many other countries worth having partnership with if they pull out.

You probably also laughed at google saying it another yahoo killer back ehen it came.

For 1 $ you can have gallons and gallons of water. And coke plants pump out water from ground for your knowledge. All they pay is a mearge tax which has no value in any currency.

Nobody said US have less type of people. But its for sure that they have no culture of their own. Its just a mix of various communities. So, don't comment without getting the point.

And what does that fact Romania has Nokia plants have to do with them having in India. Is it that we cannot have it if you have it in Romania. And there are Indian companies coming up as well. Understood. But they need some time.

Its not our fault that your Romanian companies cannot make a cola. Ask them about it. If you doubt it post ya address here. I will send ya. Free.

And you have no idea how things sell in India. If Pepsi and Coke goes away and the stars who do ads for them start campaigning for Indian Colas, Pepsi and Coke will be out before you blink .

FYI, when the controversy with pesticides was on and SRK stopped doing ads for Pepsi, Pepsi sold onefifth of what it did compared to other colas onethird.

Urdu is more popular in Pakistan but not that popular in India. So, there are differences. Try to understand them. And Pakistan was only a small part of India. India has much diverse culture and languages.

    Hope you understand your mistakes.

I've already posted this but it doesn't seem to get through to some of the smaller minds. Bush is explaining to Americans why food prices are going up. No one is blaming India or China for consuming more.

The US produces plenty of food and exports to the whole word. It's a good thing for the US to export more helping the US economy.

No what Bush is saying is that the 'law of supply and demand' is causing higher food prices. Americans can respond by eating less beef and meat which in any case is heathlier in the long run. That's how capitalism works.

Yes we have Land Rover too.

So, as we see from Bogart's comment everything is sorted out. No blame game anymore.

bubaipal why do you hate the US so much? A lot of your own people live in the US! So basically your going to say US sucks because of one man?(president bush) Who the **** likes Bush anyways? No one. Were all normal people trying to make a living just like you! Just like Grim said to me yesterday which I fully understand now Ignorance is bliss. Don't hate when you haven't explored all the options. You know nothing about America. All you know of is some a-hole named Bush. Media is fake! A lot of it is BULL!

Sorry. I was just somewhat over excited hearing these "India is poor" "India cannot be best" stuff. I do not hate US people. I know people living in US are nice as I can see you ppl on DP. I was just against Bush comments and the debate ran to somewhere else.
After all we all are humans. I have nothing against US ppl. If I said something which hurt you I am extremely sorry for that. Lets be friends.:D:):D:)
