Prosperity in India causing global food crisis: Bush - Do you think is it true?

    Bush, the American president infers that 'apparent improvement' in the diets of people in India and China and consequent food export caps is among the causes of the current global food crisis.

    Do you think it is true?

    Well it's just the one side of the coin ;) ...

    Main reasons I feel are:
    1. What Bush said :D
    2. Use of grains by US for bio-fuel

    Bush is correct about the increase in diet of Indians. They are eating better food than they used to eat 30 years back. And they are doing a lot less agriculture than 30 years. Besides, the government won't allow the farmers to sell their crops to private parties. So even when the prices are high, the farmers are getting very low prices. The Indian government won't allow export of food and thus reducing the profit of farmers further. So the farmers do not have any benefit in doing agriculture.

    you're well informed ....good for you:) It makes sense hearing these facts, but however...Bush is way out control regarding all his statements and actions...IMO:confused:
