SCAMMER! Do Not Deal with wercylno

I bid on his domain, he sent me a message saying I won with his PayPal address. I paid and he then told me to make a payment to a different address. I told him that if he refunds my payment that I can do that. I then filed a dispute with PayPal because it was sounding fishy right there. Then he explains to me that I waited too long to pay so he sold the domain to someone else and that I can have my money back. I told him that he had to refund the payment; that I can't just have the money back. He then stated that he didn't know how and that it would take a moment for him to figure it out. He then logged out of DP and never logged back in.

Luckily for me, since I was purchasing a domain I was able to run a WHOIS. Since the new buyer has not yet updated the information, I now have his name and address. I still have all the PMs, but this still stresses me out. I've PMed him each day since the transaction's taken place, I even wrote him a step by step guide on how to refund payment... nothing.

But yeah, if this guy ever returns, don't deal with him.

Yes I agree, post it here. The very least you can do is shame the scammer into refunding your payment.

When I first started out I didn't know how to refund but I still went in and just paid the money to the person I was refunding - it's definitely just an excuse.

escalate your paypal claim, don't wait, do it. tell them repeated attempts
to contact seller has failed and your product was never delivered.

no matter what, don't close your dispute, let paypal do it.

Yeah, PayPal automatically escalated it when I filed because of some contingency on this user's PayPal account.

I called PayPal today and they said I will win the dispute, I just have to wait the full ten days for the refund.

U may win the dispute but there is no guarantee that u will get your money back, specially if that guy has already withdrawn the money.

Hopefully they put a hold on the money as soon as the claim was filed, sounds like the guy already had issues with paypal if they automatically escalated the dispute.

Very true, but I made the dispute almost minutes after I paid pending that weird message with a different payment address. So hopefully in that time he did withdraw it. I think if there's a dispute on your account you can't withdraw.
