Hi ... I launched my new website http://www.digg4free.com/ yesterday (4 May 2008) and today (5 May 2008) it ranks on 5th position in GOOGLE for the keywords "free diggs" Isn't it amazing ? I never did any SEO or such thing. Just wrote the content and meta description and keywords tags. Didnt even submit it to google. and this is what I get free without any work !! Check out the image for proof.. Please post your comments
Not to burst your bubble, but this happens a lot with new sites. They get a quick and high SERP for keywords, and then the big adjustment happens and you're on page 14. Then you have to start the seo, link building etc. to get back on the first page. Happens every time.
Google give a New Content Boost to new pages and new sites, this boost helps them rank high in search results. But this boost is only temporary. May be your site also have this boost. Also, Is your site violating Digg TOS ?
Lol... yea its not there anymore because its on the 3rd place now.. Dont know if this happens for new sites or not but im very happy..
This usually happens for any new content on your site(new blog post) Few days ago , I wrote a tutorial regarding "Passing Javascript variables to Php" on my blog ,within a day it was 11th in Google search for "Passing javascript variables to Php" but as of today it's nowhere there to be seen This happens only for if your title matches the keyword you are targetting (Usually long keywords)
agree with this.. i have also try to search for "free digg" .. The site was also at the first page.. even though the key phrase is competitive..
That term gets about 3 searches a day acording to http://freekeywords.wordtracker.com/index.html Also, I'd reccommend that you remove any links to the index file in the root directory, and instead just link to the root domain. Otherwise you will be splitting your link juice between the versions of the url with and without the index file appended.
NO matter what, A success is Success, is it for low for new content or old content. There are others who just keep digging and don't get first page ranking for lesser competition.
also it's worth noting that you don't really need to submit your link to google to be indexed, all you need to do is to get some good links. i.e. the one from Digg. That will get you indexed just as fast.
I suggest you read this soon: http://diggtheblog.blogspot.com/2006/08/digg-trademarks-and-confusion.html Basically digg will come after you if you have "digg" in your domain or site name.
well actually the only impressive thing is that it got indexed in google that quickly but otherwise if you notice your competition for this keyword, there isn't much. But that should hold you back either if that word is search on google that really that is accomplishment
