I've started a new freelance website, and need to get some marketing started. What's the best way to advertise for a freelance marketplace? (with paid membership).
Wow, it looks really good as a start up, once it take off I'm sure it will definitely be useful and easy to get around. The biggest 'key' that I can offer from ANY kind of marketing is to simply get the name out in anyway you can. If you choose PPC campaigns or free-ad sites, tweak it everyday and do your best to get it indexed correctly. Join us similarly focused forums and display your expertise then offer up the site as a new tool for others. In ANY school of thought, word of mouth spreads faster than any other campaign I've experienced. Start writing articles that are aimed toward your target audience and submit them to tons of social bookmarking sites, all free. The desire to know more is out there, just find your way to plug in to it and let people find you. Good luck! -Rich Wallace
I would join all the webmaster forums and buy signature links from other members. You might want to consider making it free while you build up a community, and put some fake projects on there to make it look like its active.
Thanks for the tips. You mentioned fake projects...How do you mean? Create different users and projects?
