Yes they are good, however I am of the personal opinion that normal directories are still greater properties to own and operate.
In the raw sense of the term a general directory with levels such as general > fetured > premium etc are also a bid directory
I'd go with a general flat fee or free directory within a niche if I were you. Unless you're going to do something special, a bid directory won't make you stand out. There's hundreds around already.
thank you for helping. i am happy with phpld free. i ask about bidding directory becuase i hear lots about them today. i wanting to know if they be easyer to run and more popular also? i think i stay with phpld free but it is good to ask.
I never submit to bidding directory, specially for those bidding directory with lower or zero pagerank.
bidding directories are good but it all depends on your aims, for example if you are looking to increase your page rank because you have a new site, with a bit of money you could get good results, but you got to shop around for the best ones.
Its depends on you if you have a new directory then you need a good quality liks with PR.In that situation you need to perfer a bidding directory because this will give u a immediate approval.
Realistically, the order of listings in a bidding directory has zero to do with quality and everything to do with the available budget of the submitter.
If you are looking to actually own something meaningful, a general directory would be the best bet. For the two, just the operating model is different
bidding directories are like any other general directories! the auto approval can be stopped! and the listings can wait for review, i for some reasons like to give review later, if the site is not good [not ok with TOS] then it gets removed and refunded. If you are planning to create a bidding directory, do some niche research, and make a bidding directory on a niche/topic!
Uttoran, most people make a bid directory to make money. Most people make a niche directory as they are passioate about the subject and want to appeal to human visitors and provide them with a quality resource. Those two statements heavily conflict which is why bidding directories fail heavily in that area.
Your views about directories are always good and well thought, but this statement is not corect because as we all know normal directories do the same with featured listings or site of the day or recomended sites e.t.c. So that statement is also aply to regular directories.
Does anyone know if Google make any distinction between bidding directories and regular directories, in terms of the value it gives to the links? Thank you
