Over 200 Adsense Clicks in a Day?!

Discussion in 'AdSense' started by crumblepie, May 4, 2008.

For the past few days, I've been seeing a huge number of clicks in my adsense account.. there are no earnings for these clicks, but the number of clicks exceeds 200.. and I normally only get 6 or 7 daily.. is some bot continously clicking on my ads, and will this get me banned?

Yes, I would be worried. Give google a call, do not email.

Doesn't sound good at all. I'd send an email to the support guys immediately or call them. Better be safe than sorry.

Sounds a lot like invalid clicks and perhaps someone who is trying to get your adsense banned. Just notifiy google adsense right away and be truthful in that email.

As long as you notified them, you have nothing to worry about. Worry to much will cause stress. Eh, my friend said that to me one day. lol

I'd say call up / fax Google asap if you dont want to get banned (emails wont be answered even long after they've banned you!)

And, IF you can afford it, remove ads from your website for a couple of days (or remove the publiser ID from the code if you use the old code). I guess this would work for you because you yourself admitted, you get only 6-7 clicks, so you dont stand to lose much.

Take a look at your visitors log and ips - see if there are any suspicious ones. perhaps ban the ip, or the entire country, if not a target of the site. may want to set-up a third party system to serve your ads, like openx, that way you can manage it better.

It's really hard to tell which website is getting the clicks because a channel has not been set for it, and I have quite a lot of sites :( Maybe it's not even one of my sites but one of those adsense revenue sharing programs  I can't even remember which ones I signed up for :(

You gave me a good idea. I'll go check mybloglog now.. hopefully that'll shed some light on the issue :)

I think you are in a major problem. Don't ignore it. I have also got more than 500+ clicks on few days ago. I have also sent an email to Google but they were not responded. Don't wait for only Google action. I think you will need to remove all the adsense ads from your pages for few days to save your Adsense account. Adsense ads can be place again on your pages later but if you once lost your Adsense account, it's not possible to get return.

Ok there's nothing unusual in mybloglog.. I'm getting the same number of clicks I've always been getting. So that means it's either some revenue sharing website that I'm getting these clicks from, or that it's simply an error. I just added up the total number of impressions reported for each site, and it doesn't add up to the total - I've received a lot more impressions than they reported, but a lot less clicks. Because I haven't earned anything for these clicks, I'm not that worried about losing my account.

login to your account, go to adsense setup --> allowed sites!
choose only allow certain sites to show my adsense ads! and put your own sites in that box! and save it!

Also send an email to adsense support explaining the situation:)

    Sounds like invalid clicks.

Go here and tell adsense about it.

    google.com/adsense/support/bin/request.py

    Choose this

"Invalid Clicks or Unusual Account Activity"

I get click bombed alot...yesterday I got hit too..

    But

I never e-mail Google....they know what is going on with your account and as such they don't need an e-mail to tell them.

They filter out the bad clicks.

Simple proof is.... your income average is still the same I am willing to bet..
