The city of London has proven you wrong with their votes. He is given the mandate to run the diverse, tolerant and multi cultural city of London. May he do a fantastic job.

Yes? He wasn't praising him, he was just saying his status.

Livingstone had requested a report to inform himself on al-Qaradawi before his visit. After reading the study, he concluded "nearly all of the lies distorting al-Qaradawi's statements came from the MEMRI institute, which pretends to be an institute of objective research. However, we found out that the MEMRI had been founded by a former Mossad officer, who systematically distorts not only al-Qaradawi's statements, but what many other Muslim scholars say. In most of the cases, disinformation is total, and this is why I published this study."

    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/MEMRI#Criticism

Livingstone insists that the mayor of a major diverse city had a duty to maintain close relationships with all faith groups even if he disagreed with some of their views.

Stox, you are a racist filth bag, mabye if you don't like a multi cultral London you should move to Yorkshire or something where there are more whites

They are ovbiously unaware of Boris' background, he is a shady character

That just proves what a detached imbecile ken is. People who support suicide bombings, say rape victims are to blame, support female genital mutilation, Say wives should be beaten and that gays should be executed should be deported and sent back to whatever hole they came from. A "close relationship" with filth like this is damaging, Unnecessary and gives them a platform to spread their disgusting views.

Do you agree with Yusuf al-Qaradawi by the way?

    Are you thick or something?

"A study was commissioned to investigate the 'Islamic conspiracy dossier.' This dossier was compiled to defame a renowned Muslim scholar and was presented to British officials in an attempt to prevent a renowned Muslim scholar, Sheikh Yusuf al-Qaradawi, from entering Britain to participate in a London conference. The report found that "nearly all the distortions came from material produced by the MEMRI."

From that, it seems the claims you say about Yusuf Al Qaradawi are false (not surprising), untill then i will hold my judgment on him.

After the September 11 attacks, Qaradawi, urging Muslims to donate blood for the victims of the attacks, stated,

"Islam, the religion of tolerance, holds the human soul in high esteem, and considers the attack against innocent human beings a grave sin, this is backed by the Qur'anic verse which reads:

Who so ever kills a human being for other than manslaughter or corruption in the earth, it shall be as if he has killed all mankind, and who so ever saves the life of one, it shall be as if he had saved the life of all mankind," (Al-Ma'dah:32).

"The Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, is reported to have said, 'A believer remains within the scope of his religion as long as he doesn't kill another person illegally'"

"Islam never allows a Muslim to kill the innocent and the helpless." He denies that Palestinian suicide bombing attacks constitute terrorism, claiming that "when Palestinians face such unjust aggression, they tend to stem bloodletting and destruction and not to claim the lives of innocent civilians", but qualifies that with "I do agree with those who do not allow such martyr operations to be carried out outside the Palestinian territories."

    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Yusuf_al-Qaradawi

This does not sound like the person you are trying to describe Stox, though I wouldn't expect any less from a filthy racist snob like yourself

IMHO sweetsara for your own good, comment on the facts of the thread and not divert into stox character or intellectual abilities. If you are too enraged by this discussion, logoff and cool down before coming back again.

It would do you good and also do the discussion some justice.

Did I mention that I also consider Margaret Thatcher to be the greatest Prime Minister of the 20th century after Winston Churchill (also a Conservative)?

She led the Party - my Party - to 3 election landslides and showed true grit and determination in sorting out the mess left by the 70s administration of Jim Callaghan. You think the Tories cocked up the economy in the early 90s? It was just a minor blip compared to Labour in the 70s - the bodies stacked in hospitals because everyone was on strike, inflation running to double figures, the country held to ransom by militant trade unionists. You liked that lifestyle, did you? She also gripped the Argentinians by the bollocks when they invaded the Falklands even though the US told her to go it alone. That's leadership.

    How quickly people forget.

Nah it's ok. I'm having a good time making a fool out of Stox, he is diverting the discussion on every post he makes, no mention from him on Boris' racism or his own clear lies on the Muslim scholar yet.

You mean the study commissioned by ken livingston after it was found out that he was playing host to a homophobe who calls for the execution of gays? How surprising that it supported the person who financed the study......

Let's have a look at what he said when talking to the BBC, Not MEMRI.

In what sense? UK had done very well under her economically, socially and politically. Maybe some sources on how she destroyed UK? Or almost destroyed UK? Granted that she is iron fisted but we can't erased away her accomplishments.

Do concentrate on your Muslim scholar and not on Stox please, we would rather hear about the Muslim scholar......

All citizens of Israel have to serve in the military, so they are soldiers.

I like how you avoid everything else though, very classy.

A sweeping statement with nothing to back it up at all. So how did she almost ruin the country? Did you feel aggrieved when she took your free school milk? Or maybe your family were miners who were holding the UK to ransom for a 10% pay hike even though coal was finished? Pathetic.

Thanks to thatcher most people in the UK can now buy their own homes. People often criticise her for closing the mines, But all she done was preempt the decline in coal usage and the low cost coal we can buy from abroad. the fact is, We don't need coal mines anymore and nobody is entitled to have their job protected if that sector is not financially viable.

So you support the attacks on Israeli civilians on the grounds that they probably were once in the army?

The period under Thatcher was grave confrontation between the dominant trade unions and her policies. She did not blinked and that brought about UK success stories as opposed to the rest of Europe at that time. UK was never destroyed or nearly destroyed under her. In fact she was the one who laid down the foundations for the future leaders.

They are not civillians if they are soldiers, the fact is, all Israelis have at one point served in the military, or will, so they are a threat to Palestine, this is not my view but you can see where they are coming from.

Sorry, but i lived under her, I think I know thank you. Everyone wished when she had the stroke a while ago that she died, even people on TV and talk shows said that, you were probally just a kid or baby when she was in power so you wouldn't know. Unemployment, pointless wars, coal mines, political prisoners, starving people to death, etc etc. You think Bush was bad? Ha..

We are talking about the London Mayor, pity it digressed to Zionism and Israel. But once a soldier does not mean he or she is a soldier unless there is a mobilization and he/she would assume the rank and files of a soldier. Other than that, in ordinary life they are civilians.

Can we do the OP some justice and bring the topic back to London?

Yeah, that's right - you're ignorance of domestic politics has been exposed so let's quickly talk about Israel instead.

Incidentally Boris Johnson has more of a mandate to be Mayor of London than your Government does to rule the country:

    Johnson vote for London: 43%
Labour vote in 2005 General Election: 35.3%

Consider that when you're preaching about ignorant Londoners turning to the Conservatives.
