And on the subject of politicians avoiding questions, check out this clip, another interview from Jeremy Paxman to Michael Howard (Tory), where again he avoids the question no less than 12 times!:D

Why? Johnson seems like exactly the sort of optimistic and pragmatic leader that a city like London should welcome.

I voted for boris and am delighted he is in. Most arguments against boris come from personal attacks on the way he talks and his hair, Strange how none of his opposition can argue against his policy.

he is classically educated (one of the highest educated MP's), He isn't in the job for fame (his has been consistently hosting shows for the last 5 years), He isn't in it for money (last year he earned over £500,000 according to members interests).

I only wish there was a "fuck off ken" box for my second vote.

He is a warmonger, racist, fascist oh and he is a snob, he went to eaton.

StOx, what is wrong with Ken? He has done wonders for London. Is it because he is just a common person like everyone else, or that he dosen't hold similar views to the BNP?

He is backed by the BNP, which is a white nationalist/supremacest political party, Boris says he dosen't like them, but if the BNP are urging people to vote for him, then you can see that their views are similar and they have some common ground.

Just do some searching, you will find that he is just another snobbish idiot, like the rest of the pro war goons. Ken Livingstone, the previous London mayor, was one of the last few honourable people in politics.

Oh and Guerilla, this is a good read - http://www.newstatesman.com/200804300002

    Oh and this http://www.newstatesman.com/200804300001

Oh and did I mention he is also a Zionist?

Oh and did i mention he considers Margaret Thatcher the greatest 20th-century peacetime prime minister - Thatcher who abolished London's democratic city government and brought the city's public services and infrastructure, and therefore quality of life, to their knees.

Oh and he supports the Iraq war

You should be very careful of what you accuse people of, Otherwise people may infer that your support for ken stems from his chummy relationship with a muslim cleric who thinks gays should be executed, Girls genitals should be mutilated, rape victims are to blame because of the way they dress and suicide bombings targeting civilians are justified [1].

People may also infer that your support for ken is because, like him, You also hate jews.
And on to racism. Ken livingston once told two indian businessmen to "go back to Iran" and see how well their business goes there. He also said he looks forward to when the saudi royal family "are swinging from lamp-posts".

Ken livingston is bad for london because if he wants to stop people doing something he simply charges them obscenely to do it so that they can't afford to. Look at the congestion charge. He isn;t for expanding london, He is for charging it in to submission. Under ken some lorries, People who HAVE to drive through london, Will be carged £200 a day. Some cars, Incidentally the types of cars owned by poor people, will be charged £25 a day. This isn't a solution, It's forced prevention.

The wanker had 8 years, it's his time to go.

Nice for a change, at least that will shake up Mr Brown a bit. I do not quite like him dragging Tony Blair down in a rush for the premiership. This loss will certainly give him some food for thoughts.

All I am reading is a lot of virulent hate rhetoric directed his way. There is literally no name you or the article you quoted will not call him.

I'm no expert on London politics by any stretch, but if he won and this many people hate him, he's either fantastic, or really bad. Let's hope it's the former.

You are sounding more like a member of the BNP everyday Stox, good going.

The only reason you voted for Boris is because he is anti religion and anti anything that isn't white. I'm sure that will do the city of London wonders!

Worst of all is Johnson’s casual racism, although it is perhaps not wholly surprising from someone of his class and background. It takes a particular kind of bad judgement, as despicable as it is revealing, to think that there could be anything funny about describing the participants in the Congolese civil war as having “watermelon smiles” or talking of “crowds of flag-waving piccaninnies” (with conscious echoes of Enoch Powell?), yet both phrases appeared in a Daily Telegraph article by Johnson as recently as 2002. Such a man simply does not belong in modern, multicultural London

So you have absolutely no reply to what i posted other than to tell more lies?
maybe you can have terrorists, Homophobes and child abusers round for tea now that ken isn't able too have them over at city hall.

This is London. Anyone who has anything but utter contempt for Yusuf al-Qaradawi is not welcome, And they certainly shouldn't be mayor.

So you counter all of Boris' racism, pro war, fascist views by saying i hate Jews?

You are a snob, simple as that. Good luck having an all white London, it's never going to happen.

You like to lie through your teeth alot aswell, don't you? Homophobes? In 2001 Livingstone set up Britain's first register for same-sex couples; while falling short of legal marriage rights, the register was seen as a "step towards" such rights. Legal status was later passed by the government through the Civil Partnership Act 2004.

In 2001 Livingstone revived the free anti-racism Music festival now called Rise: London United. He believes that this, along with other anti-racist policies, is why London has seen a 35% decrease in racist attacks.

So even before he took office, he already had quite a few labels, anti religion, anti white, Zionist, anti anything.

Well if he is anti matter, that would really be a break through for physics.

Give him time to perform, it is far to early to condemn a man even before he had a chance to do his job. Remember he won fair and square with a sizable margin that is a kick on the backside of the Labor Party.

He had a privileged background, but that isn't his fault right?

Racists don't deserve a chance to run such a diverse, tolerant and multi cultral city like London.

Strange that he would invite a fundamentalist, Anti-Semitic, Woman hating, child abusing, suicide bombing supporting muslim cleric who said gays should be executed for tea then.

The funny thing is, Ken thought that this piece of filth who demonstrates utter hatred for practically anybody who isn't himself was described by ken as "one of the most authoritative Muslim scholars in the world".

Ken is gone, I just hope he takes his filthy, bigoted terrorist friends with him.

Who do you think voted Boris in? it's the people who live in this diverse, tolerant, multi-cultural city. And if they voted him in, He DOES deserve to run it. Don't like democratic elections? Move to Zimbabwe
