Hey all, I really wonder, does MySpace actually gain you much traffic? If I want to get traffic from MySpace do I simply add as many people as possible to be my friend or is there more to it than that? The basic question is simply if it works or not?
Groups and bulletins are two great ways of MySpace marketing. If you have tons of friends any bulletin you post would be shown on your friends. Without doing spamming I think you could use that for marketing. You could also be member of popular groups and post bulletin there.
It's time consuming to do without bots, chances are your time could be spent doing more profitable methods. However, if your site is directly MySpace related then it could be worth it, but for general traffic, my suggestion would be to look elsewhere.
In my own personal experience, MySpace has been a very ineffective tool for marketing and promoting sites. I've sent bulletins to thousands upon thousands of people, with very few clicks coming back. Unless people add you for the intent of learning more about your niche, you're advertising towards a very broad demographic and your CTR will be below 0.5%. I wouldn't use MySpace unless you've got some sort of fan club dedicated towards your site/niche.
It can be a decent source of traffic if done right. You have to get people actually interested in what you're selling. I notice that the most effectively marketed profiles are those for charities or earth causes because other users will repost their bulletins, etc.
all depends not what your doing if it is some thing like music fashion or even the latest gadget on the market it might. generally aimed at the "mtv generation" trends and the like.
myspace gets a lots of traffic but doesn't sends. Well, I don't think if you have health related website and promoting in myspace will work.
