reciprocal linkexchanges bad for SEO?

I see some people saying that reciprocal linkexchanges is bad for SEO?
Is this right?
How can I get links to my webpage without placing a reciprocal link?

 

It can help, but not as much as it used to, Google changed their algorithms i think...

Better focus on oneway or threeway linking it's not the same value as it had a yr ago..

 

One way links is certainly better. But from what I can see here, reciprocal link exchange is not that bad at all.
Unless you test it on some of your projects you will never find out.
