My vote is for Windows....easy to use, supported with almost all softwares and especially designed for usage of everyone!!!!
Depends on what you are running for. If server Linux and Apache is better. For desktop Windows is the one as most of the applications you will be using comes in Windows. You can configure Linux say Ubuntu with Open Office for eg, but you will find that somehow your colleagues are more reluctant to use it, even though it may be very similar.
Whoever said Mac was the best is nuts. If you are good at computing then take Linux, however if you are totally new, and have no previous experience, then Windows is for you.
I think the best option is a dual boot of windows and linux. Then you have all the applications of windows, and the quickness of linux.
I've used Linux & Windows, aswell as OSX, I love OSX Leopard so far, I've been a Windows user for ages, but out of all I prefer OSX, the downside is u cannot game whatsoever, and Apple products are expensive as hell, but I got my Leopard installed on PC, getting a Macbook free in a week or so...
Every now and then someone asks a question like this however provides no background information. For what purpose are you making this comparison? Webserver, daily OS, media server? Home use, office use? When you sit down and take the time to answer all these questions, the answer is very simple each case. For those claiming MAC to the champ for ease of use, best applications, etc. , yes it can be as long as you agree to overpay for everything. ps. Anytime someone asks what OS should I use, the answer is obvious. If you were comfortable/experienced with and educated enough about Linux, you would already be using it.
For the way I use computers - programming, writing - Windows works fine. My sister-in-law is a designer and she uses a Mac but she still can't do all the other things she needs to do to run her business without using a windows PC.
