    since your site is an informational one, you should go for .info as your site's extension.
    TLDs dsnt matter that much in SEO field
    if you have unique content and quality backlinks, nobody can stop you from being #1

    you are right, ext does not affect the SEO,,, i have a site http://indiaseo.info .. it hardly 4 months old and have a PR 5 and getting good traffic from google for my primary keywords.
