In the UK if your 17 you can apply for a debit card rather then a CC which is pretty much the same and paypal allows it. Not sure if they do the same where your from.

    Wait for more replies :)

Difficult to get a credit card at 17 in India, since you are still a student and would not have any income to show.

Getting an add-on card from your parents account is your best bet.

P.S - Indian debit cards don't work on paypal...

Yes. You can apply for an addon card on your parents card. Almost all banks allow it. CitiBank is the one I checked. For a Creditcard you need to show your income and tax return filing. Basically real creditcard is for business people.

By right, you are not even allowed to sign up for a paypal account if you are under 18 years old.

Can't you apply for a PayPal account under your parent's name?

As far as I know, if you're not 18 years old, you can't apply for a add-on card either.

The best thing to do is to apply for add on card on your parents credit card or you can get CC against a FD from ICICI
PM me if you need any more clarification.

Exactly. She/he will be very lucky to keep the account.

Wait untill you turn 18 then you can consider using paypal's services again.

You can actually use certain types of "gift" cards to activate your paypal account. I showed a friend how to do it a while ago. Basically, you need to get a visa gift card(the kind I used was all-access), and you can use it like a vcc to activate a paypal account.

That does not solve the problem. Shes/he is under 18 years of age and this violates paypal TOS. If they limit her/his account and ask him for a national id? Think about it.
