There's Something F'd Up With Clickbank!

I just had my merchant install the Google Conversion Tracking software on his Thank You page (you can only get to this page if you purchase the product), and in Google Adwords it's showing that I am getting conversions.

I login to Clickbank, ZERO conversions. WTH is going on with Clickbank? Honestly I am getting so sick of this.

Anyone else track their conversions using Google Analytics and not see any sales in Clickbank. There's something going on and us affiliates are truly getting ripped off!

Btw, I started the post ?type=nohop, and I have this parameter on my links but obviously it doesn't work!

Unless the thank you page is an on the fly unique url generated page, you're not measuring sales.

    Care to elaborate?

Yesterday when it was first implemented, it accurately measured every sale (received conversions in Google and in Clickbank). This is definitely accurate. Today, not getting credited by Clickbank.

Just received another sale, but this time it is 1:1 (tracked by both Google Analytics and Clickbank).

Haven't heard from Clickbank yet, we'll see what happens.

I am seeing something messed up with my traffic today. My CB analytics are showing more sales than the transaction reports. I would have suspected a refund but on this product the refund rate is under 5% and the data has been the same all day! Account home is matching dollar wise with transaction amount.

I thought transaction screen would show the transactions even refunds real time?

Could this be a double charge it is for the same product but the problem is I notice the first sale of it early this morning and it appears this second sale of the same product may have occurred about 8 hours later.

    here is whats happening:

Somebody is clicking on your google ad.. Google records this..
they then click the back button and click on another ad (for the same product)

they decide to purchase from the other affiliate

they reach the thank you page

Google sees that they clicked on your ad and thinks the sale was from you

Google then records that you made the sale..

Google tracking sucks - There is nothing fucked up with clickbank. For better tracking, try xtreme conversions. - http://www.drubee.com/?p=14

    Right

It's now near the end of the day, and I still haven't been credited for that sale which converted about 9 hours ago!

But since then, I have received a sale which was tracked on both Google and Clickbank.

So I should just keep patiently waiting for clickbank to give me a nice bulk transaction with all the missing conversions eh?

Has anyone else installed Analytics and seen disparity between the two tracking software?

We'll have to see how often this is happening because if it's just a one off thing then I could understand your theory. But will keep everyone posted if I keep getting conversions from Google and nothing from Clickbank as it would seem all too coincidental, especially if they are going to the same merchant that I am pointing to.

What sort of numbers are you talking?

    5 sales, 50 sales, 500 sales?

I just checked my accounts and here is my stats for April for one of the products I am promoting:

    google conversions: 271
    Actual clickbank sales: 109

On top of that I may have gotten sales from other sources.. so its fair to say less then 100 Clickbank sales to 271 google conversions.

I dont have a problem with CB at all, its just googles tracking.
You can assign a TID to every keyword yourself if you want better tracking or go XC

Ok I knew you would have an issue with what I rewrote so let me rephrase.......

Its the 1st, which means end of last months activities are what Clickbank is working on .....

So more than likely their systems are having some issues.

I just had a day last week where clickbank showed 2 conversions and Google Analytics did not show them till 6 hours later,,,,;)

I did not toss the whole thing into a conspiracy theory due to that, I simply laughed and went on about life....

Good luck with things either way

Why do they have constant issues? THEY SHOULDN'T!

People here at DP have already established this. Switch if you are not happy. Try paydotcom.com or something that seems fairly stable.

Well you may be right about their system having issues due to end of month. My one sale that was missing in question is now showing in transactions. In all today is going to be a nice day on CB sales and other aff programs.

Wow somethings wrong there.. that is a definite.

I use Google Analytics on a couple of the programs where the advertiser will add it to their thank you page and from my past few 100 sales I hit 1:1 between Google & CB.

I also use hitlens ecommerce reporting to keep a check & balance in place in case Clickbank or Google decides to try something underhanded.

Is it possible you're sale thankyou page, is indexed by googlebot in the organic side for long tail terms, and people are simply hitting it without making a purchase???

Most of them have these issues at end of month. CJ does I know that, as I had seen a lag in check going out recently, and they wrote me and tell me blah blah blah.....checks might be delayed as one time they had a power failure on check writing day.....

And everyday is a good day with Clickbank and others from what I have learned....don't always make sales or a profit...... but it's better than sitting in the Badlands of North Philly cutting off cable to Comcast customers who did not pay or are stealing services....

    :D
