Hello, My web directory got penalized from PR4 to PR0 can any one let me know the reason? anyone else got penalized ? -Killol
Your directory looks nice, but not sure why google penalize it. Since google is updating its database in these days, maybe you shall wait a few days to see the result. Aviva was also penalized due to requiring backlink and selling ads with follow attribute. But there are many other directories do the same without penalized by google. Did you take any black action to promote your directory?
No I am using organic seo techniques only. Never opted for black hat seo. Even I am getting average 2 paid submission a day, but i guess it will effect now as i have lost pr
Showing PR2 here. Probably just a natural drop. Your backlinks probably come from pages with lower PR and if you don't buy any high PR links it may continue to drop. Directories rarely get natural backlinks, although a lot of niche directories do.
Hello... Well your directory is not penalized as it shows up for its own name and you also have the google search links (what some call authoritive links) which i dont think they would have given you if you where penalized. What can i say.... welcome to the jungle 2008 thx malcolm
I see a PR 0 in my toolbar. If you lost pagerank, it is very possible that it is related to those footer links on your directory. I would rethink having a cluster of footer links on any site. Even if you are not penalized, they still are draining PR.
Awww.....should have listed to big bad google all this time and chosen a different industry to make money on the back of then. PR selling went out of the window months ago....
You got penalized because you have removed the google adsense code and bicause google couldn't find thir adsense code they penalized your directory. PM me to help you with adsense code. I have 10 free domains with good PR2 and make lot of money. This month I will get my second paid domain. I'm doing veryy wheel. I'm verified with PayPal, so i'm a ligitimate codec.
If Google Adsense was human, would you want to marry them? You seem to enjoy promoting their greatness around here
Killoldesai I think you are the right person who really needs to have a look at this post: http://forums.digitalpoint.com/showpost.php?p=7605110&postcount=8 Good luck! Robert
Google like content, doesn't like the directory site. This is probably the reason. I think sooner or later, Google will set most of the directory web site to 0.
Collateral damage! I'm listed in tons of directories, mostly free, some pay-for-review. Google's agressive actions against paid links (right or wrong) have affected those of us who are the recipients of those directory links. As G has devalued a number of directories' PRs, my home page dropped from a PR5 to a 4. Not a mystery — it's collateral damage from the Google war on paid, dofollow directory links. That page has a lot of directory links pointing to it. Not a problem. We're big boys and will continue with broad-based, white-hat SEO strategies to secure high SERPs traffic.
