    I have a site with a home page = PR3

    mysite.com/ = PR3

    The problem is that, the

    mysite.com/index.html is also PR3

    Should I redirect

    mysite.com/index.html

    to

    mysite.com/ ?

To answer your PM and this thread in one shot....

    RewriteCond %{THE_REQUEST} ^[A-Z]{3,9}\ /.*index\.html?\ HTTP/
    RewriteRule ^(.*)index\.html?$ http://www.domain.com/$1 [R=301,L]

    Code (markup):

    I would redirect to mysite.com.

The search engines count this as 2 different pages, which are currently fighting for positioning. I would redirect to site.com

    Thank You for your answer.

The real thing about which I am worried, is that, is it good to redirect the index.html to the main page?

Redirecting index to home page, good for SEO ?

Yes, it pushes all link value to one URL.
