Colossians 1:15-16 says "He is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn of all creation; because by means of him all [other] things were created in the heavens and upon the earth, the things visible and the things invisible, no matter whether they are thrones or lordships or governments or authorities. All [other] things have been created through him and for him" This verse is pointing towards Jesus being this one. God created him, then together, they created the universe. It would be logical that all these things in the universe would have to be in place to then create the earth to have it ready (in time) for human inhabitation.
What do you mean by 6000+, around 6000 years old or millions of years old? But that dosen't mention the big bang, or that the earth and universe was at one time, one unit. When we think about the first moments of the Big Bang, we see that the entire matter of the universe collected at one single point. In other words, everything-including "the heavens and earth" which were not created yet-were in an interwoven and inseparable condition. Then, this point exploded violently, causing its matter to disunite. It dosen't mention this, vital fact in the bible.
Of course it does not say this in the Bible. That's man's words and thoughts. I never said the Bible said this at all. I quoted what it did say about creation and I could quote many more from Genesis but that would only suggest that is what the Bible says about it. I am not disputing the "Big Bang" in regards to the possibility of them (God and Jesus) causing this to happen as the first part of creation (after Jesus of course). However, I would dispute that the "Big Bang" was a natural thing in regards to an evolutionary theory. That is entirely my opinion though. I do respect other people's opinions and views. Everyone deserves the right to think for themselves. But you did ask the question
Do you not think this is more accurate with science ? 30. Do not the Unbelievers see that the heavens and the earth were joined together (as one unit of creation), before we clove them asunder? We made from water every living thing. Will they not then believe? BTW thanks for attempting to answer my question without being rude, i apprichiate it
6000 years.. And the world was created in 6 days... Of course who are we to know what a day or year is or was in terms of God's definition of a year or day? It's all relative at this point. 6k years or 4.5 billion years, its all the same...
Sweet heart, if you spent 6 days making the heavens, the earth, and everything on them and in between, I think you would rest on Sunday as well! Hell, you'd probably kick it with your peeps and have a few cold ones. I think realistically the 7th day thing is a metaphor for not working, resting, ie., keeping one day holy, for the Lord God. If you want my educated opinion as to how I take it...
It's very interesting to look at the Bible from a scientific viewpoint. There are many who can and many who can't. Why the difference? Mainly because we are all different and we all think differently. If you look at the societies in the world today, look how segregated we are. There is no nation that is exempt from this fact. I am not sure where this "30." comes from. I love looking at scientific data. However, I make sure that the data I am looking at is not manipulated or expressed from an individuals point of view. This is a very difficult thing to disseminate as there are many highly intelligent scientists around the globe today. I appreciate your questions too in a polite and courteous manner. It's a welcome relief
Stop being so satirical. It's a metaphor... I'd look up things like Sabbath... Not the metal band btw.
Sorry, mabye I should of mentioned that it was a verse from the Quran. Hehe. It was actually a serious question
God wont. Science Will. http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/health/7354458.stm All hail the Atheists who bring you your Medicine.
it's amazing what people can achieve when they stop arguing about who has the best invisible friend. This guy could have prayed all day until he died and nothing would have happened to that finger. Yet thanks to a small group of scientists and their intelligence they have regenerated him a brand new finger. science rules.
Yeah at times. But it's a turn of phrase. I don't have to believe something exists to use it as a turn of phrase. People often say someone is "in a pickle" when describing a tricky situation, They don't actually believe they are literally "in a pickle" though.
