Well, it seems my blog: http://trustedsitesforptc.blogspot.com/ received pagerank 2 with absolutely no links from anywhere, and only 6 indexed pages..the only way I could have received this is by SEO..it is a blogspot afterall. This blog only received 2xxx visits in all the time it has existed.. Weird...but I can't complain
I've seen this happening to some other blogspots blogs as well, including mine . However my blog got PR1 from PR2 in recent PR update. Funny part of it is that I hadn't updated my blog for almost a year when it got PR2 which motivated me. I added couple of blog posts and it got PR1 .
getting pr to blogspots links is easy because of there main website already having pr i also own some blogspots and squidoo all got good pr this time because there main page has pr6 or 7 one of my squidoo page got pr3 and it has not been updates since i created it lol
if you are using any other blog host other than blogger then this would not happen. Coz google montiors much if you are using it. If you do any false linking methods you can be sure that you are going to be penlized.
Hey, Yahoo shows you have three whole back links! Its not so strange and not necessarily related to Blogspot, I think. One of my wordpress blogs on its own host managed to get PR3 with just 5 back links (and they were even from a forum!) I think its just really easy to get pagerank on a domain/subdomain if you don't have many pages attached to it.
Hmmm... wouldn't be surprised if Google prefers their blogspot users to show up over and above users of other platforms... Conspiracy theory
I've had this happen in the past, too, but to a wordpress.com account. It's over a year old and was just being used as a portal page, yet it still has a PR2 with no backlinks!
Well guys, I've another example to share. A friend of me created a free WordPress blog couple of months back. Just yesterday his main page got PR4 and one of internal pages got PR5 (He called me in middle of night to share the news). His blog is listed on top of SERP for a good keyword. Having a high SERP ranking(top 10) affects PR? Is it easy to get high PR for free blogs? I've so many questions running on my mind.
My theory is that it's somehow related to the tags you choose for the blog post. For instance, if the tag for "television" on blogspot.com is PR7 and you use it, you get some juice from it. Couple that with 5-6 other high PR tags, etc.
guys this is not a reliable state of affairs. loads of unexplainably high PRs have been randomly awarded. one site under our care has gone PR5 with only six little links to it. doubt it will necessarily stay like this, there'll be a correction IMO.
You can get a Pr2 if you have a good site and so many post. I think that the site is over a year old also helps.
If you're on a free blog host, like blogspot or blogging4life, the PR of the main page counts significantly to your PR, without a lot of effort.
