Turning DP's extensive knowledge base into an E-Book

Has anyone ever taken the time to sift through the myriads of threads and posts to compile knowledge on specific subjects and turn it into an e-book? If so, how did it do?

I think this is a great idea. Would be a lot of work, may be. Well worth the time though.

Thanks. I'm not ready to undertake it, but if someone already has, I'd buy it!

Yeah, there's pros and cons to the idea. On the pro side, you could pick one topic and focus on that so that people don't have to sift through so much rabble. Also, technologies and methods change over time (quite quickly in some cases) so having it in book form and updating the information as it changes so there's one source to turn to for that topic would be helpful.

On the con side, there are so many worthy topics on DP and you couldn't cover all of them very quickly so it would be such a massive undertaking, who would know where to start?

There is alot of information here, agreed. I imagine it wouldn't be too hard to compile one.
