Whats The Best Method To Have Maximum One Way Links

    Hi,

I am trying to increase the backlink support of my websites. Is it okay to have a dedicated page in my website for link building. Or should I go for one way links. How about submitting in directories. I can see that most of the directories have zero page rank for their inner pages ?. Are they going to help , if I submit my site url in zero page ranked directories.

your suggestion will be highly appreciated.

The best method for building one way links is to combine many different methods.

    1. Submit your finished site to: DMOZ, Yahoo Directory.
    2. Write quality content, that users will link to themselves.
    3. Comment on related Dofollow blogs
    4. Write articles and submit to article directories. (include link to your site in author bio)
    5. Submit site to other directories (make sure they are quality - manual approved directories)
    6. Ask other web developers of related sites to exchange links with you (not one way links, but still helpful)
    7. Submit some articles/posts from your site to social bookmarking sites, such as Digg, Mixx, etc.

I think dspohn23 is right. Try to combine methods.

To get your links approved faster you can try to submit them in new directories. You can find new directories in directory section of this forum.

Submitting to dmoz is almost useless... Let me ask you how many sites did you have listed in dmoz over the last year?
Submitting to article directories doesn't help much either, since you submit one and the same article all over again that makes all those directories have duplicate content, which in turn wouldn't help you much to rank high in the search engines.
Most of the well established directories are either paid or require a reciprocal link...

What I found useful from the above comments is to comment on the dofollow blogs.

webmasterlagoon - Dofollow blog comments are certainly very helpful. I wouldn't limit my link building to just that though. What happens if (hypothetical) Google decides to ignore dofollow blog comments, and considers them spam? We shouldn't put all of our eggs in the same basket. We should try to diversify our links as much as possbile.

Linkbait is the best and fastest way to get quality one way links.
It might be the easiest way too depending on your niche.
Just be creative and use the power of the social bookmarking sites to spread your content.

Don't stick to just one way of building links, because if google penalizes that method, then you're screwed.... use tons of different methods for link building, and you'll do better i nthe searc hengine rankings, and not have to worry if one type gets punished (ie: squidoo pages... people who only had squidoo links dropped when squidoo got google slapped)

Breakaway11 summed it up pretty good. The more your backlink profile looks to be natural, the lesser the risk of any penalty or drop in the serps. While Google may not penalize any of the link building methods you noted, they can very well be devalued.

If you want faster results, you want to submit to low PR directories. With everyone chasing PR, many high PR directories that accept free submissions have huge backlogs. And with less competing listings on low PR directories, your links will appear closer to the top of the category - this will get your links indexed much faster. Check out the directory list in my signature if you want some good free directories to submit to. I also have a social networking list as well, which can help to build links and traffic to inner pages.

    Happy link building! :)

I've had good success writing good content for a sub topic of my site that is really a different niche. Then asking webmasters from that other niche for a link to my sub topic page. Of the people who give me a link only about 30% of them want a reciprocal. It's a lot of work, but this type of link actually brings traffic and of course helps in search engine rankings.

You should really adopt a mix of strategies like link baiting and submitting to directories. That will give you a better result at the end.

I'm thinking...if can buy ads also on some blogs related to yours which don't use ad servers (ads are inserted manually).
Then they will link that banner directly to your site...does that count as backlink?
