Websites & Designs for Dynamic Jobs Portal – Any Suggestions?

Hi forum.

I’m currently looking at options for setting up a regional jobs portal. All I’ve found so far around the web is flat featureless sites, but in this world of touchy-feely all singing all dancing fast loading dynamic sites, I wonder if anyone can point me in the direction of some impressive customisable templates?

I don’t really want to design anything from a blank canvas as it were, as I’ve done that before and it ended up costing too much in cash, time, and frustration. Something ready to go (or almost), would be great. I don’t mind spending money to customise something which has a great foundation to work from.

I’m also potentially looking for site templates for a niche dating portal, but once again, in such a competitive field, I want to stray away a bit from the commonplace 2D flat featureless sites that we see around the web.

Any help, directions and or suggestions, greatly appreciated.

Joomla with the Jobline plugin would handle you basic site requirements. There are many thousands of Joomla templates you could choose from.

Thanks Peter, i'll certainly take a look. I may have already found some Web 2.0 template for my dating portal, but still need to find something suitable for a regional jobs portal.

Phew! I have to say that finding something that’s easy customisable and which has all the bells and whistles that one requires has proved to nothing less than a living nightmare!

Just as I find some script or templates they either don’t have all that I’m looking for they have a string of negative reviews ranging from bugs and security holes, to out right scams.

Talking of scams, I thought I’d found the perfect package for the dating portal designed by a company called abk-soft who have developed a really nice package called AbleDating. Unfortunately, all the searches I’ve done for reviews of this SW come back with SCAM and Scammers written all over it.

Sods law, you finally find something you like and it’s no good.!

Anyway, if anyone here knows of any similar, reliable, tried and tested dating portal SW which looks and feels similar to the New Age demo of AbleDating, please point me in the right direction. If not, I guess I’ll have to find a developer to build something for me, but with so many dynamic elements, I just know it’ll be a trying time as was the case with my mr room finder website.

Anyway, all responses greatly appreciated.
