I read that it is possible to get your business/website listed on Wikipedia. Is there any tutorials out there that explain how to do that?
It's more a case of luck of the draw. If your website is worthy, someone else will add it as a reference URL. It's VERY rare that you get away with adding your own site.
Very unlikely unless you are a Fortune 500 company that had such a fame. But such companies normally won't need Wiki to give them a boost anyway.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Portal:Companies It seems as though there are smaller companies listed within here.
I have an LLC formed in Massachusetts. Shouldn't it be OK to add it into here along with my companies website? http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Category:Companies_based_in_Massachusetts These are not all fortune 500 companies for sure.
I run a pub in Sydney and I had a go at adding our website to this page Campsie It has been there for a few months now (Campsie Hotel ) link at bottom of page. Is this what you mean ?
I really hope those commercial entities spare Wiki of the spams, keep it intact as a treasure trove of information and not a place where everyone try to get a listing for the sake of the PR and backlinks they will be getting.
Your site will have to have a very high reputation and the upmost respect for the ruthless editors at wiki to accept you.
More or less something like this: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ardence It is a company listing and it is listed from the companies directory here: http://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Category:Companies_based_in_Massachusetts
Yes. I have to agree with this. If every Joe Shmoe and their Small Company was listed there, it may ruin the quality.
If I remember correctly, it's been a while since Wiki is using no-follow on the links. Please correct me in case I'm wrong
Yeah there are alot of editors, its rare to be able to add your website by yourself. It usually has to be referenced by some one else.
Not sure on that too, but any link with Wiki can still brings a lot of benefits in terms of traffic and the likes......
Unfortunately as Oliver pointed out, your link will usually be removed fairly quickly especially if it's on a popular page.
If you contribute with useful and resourceful content and leave the relevant links, I hope, it will remain there.
