I cant decide between Windows XP and Windows Vista.

I know most of you will say Vista sucks.. etc, but thats not the reason, as Vista is not that bad for me.

Well, when i have XP, i want to upgrade to Vista and when i have vista after using it for some months, i want to downgrade to windows xp...

For some reason i cant stick to one :(

Vista has uses. I honestly don't see why people don't like it so much.

I concur. There's not much reason to hate Vista other than to jump on the bandwagon. Especially now that SP1 has been released.

for me i hate vista because it kills my gaming perfomence quite badly, and since i compete for money, that little performence drop that vista gives is what stands between a win and loss.

Other then that, turning of Areo and choosing "windows classic" skin it looks just like XP again! :)

Why would you want it to look like XP again? I hated how XP looked, it wasn't nice at all. Vista's look is much better (and more cutomizable)

Vista can weigh you down, however if you want those extra features and slick design and what not, then go with it.

However, if you know that you won't really use anything that Vista has as extra features, just stick with xp.

i actully love the XP look, i guess i just dont like change, and vista is a whole lot of change. Take aero for example, all the sidebar gadgets, just things that are mostly in the way, atleast for me, they annoyed me badly :/

Try playing for example Rainbow six vegas 2 in XP / Vista with your FPS bar showing, you will se the diffrence! :)

Vista has its annoyances as does XP. I would recommend XP for performance though but if you've got a good processor this shouldn't be an issue.

I notice no difference with games on vista than XP, apart from some games I have arn't compatable with vista.
But I guess my computer is pretty new and pretty damn amazing, so I doubt it would have much effect if any at all on game performance.

XP is the quickest and I've never felt a need to upgrade to Vista as it seems to have a bad reputation.

My brother is not skilled in using computers and bought a new computer with Vista on it to replace his old one that had XP. He thought Vista was much easier to use so perhaps Vista is better for inexperienced users.

The truth is most people preferred 98 over xp at first... Same issue for xp and vista. Overtime people are gonna get use to vista especially when most software is gonna be made specifically for it and xp dies off.

That's true, over time when people buy a new computer Vista will be already loaded on it, except if they release a new windows in 09 that time period to get accustomed to windows vista may not happen.
