After all these years that President Bush has been making an obnoxious fool of himself, it never ceases to amaze me what a marked contrast the First Lady seems to be in comparison with Dubya. Unless I'm truly misinformed (and it wouldn't be the first time), IMHO Laura Bush comes across as very dignified, as opposite from her husband--and for that matter their daughters as well--as day is from night. The last First Lady that I recall being this restrained was Pat Nixon, but as I understand, she was withdrawn because she was highly neurotic. Such does not appear to be the case with Ms. Bush. Am I missing something here or is she truly the class act that she appears to be?
You are right, she is a first class lady. I think one of the things people like about her is that she doesn't get involved in day to day politics of Washington.
