ok...i am a noob at this stuff and landing pages have always confused me the most...here's a couple questions i had: 1. do you buy/set a domain specifically for a campaign? 2. do you just iframe a CPA offer (ex: azoogle ads) on the root directory and thats it? do you build out anything else? wont the quality score be horrible? 3. how do you properly setup conversion tracking? how many pages do the CPA offers usually contain? any tips/suggestions for landing pages is appreciated...thanks!
1. You don't have to buy (I don't) new domain for every campaign. 2. Dont use iframes. Just copy/past banner/text link code into page and that's it. Or if you know some basic php, use "include". OK, iframe is also a way, but be carefull, some affiliate networks doesn't allow them. 3. Setup conversion tracking? Not shure what you are talking about. If you want to know how you track convertion statistic, don't worry. All statistics can be found in your affiliate account. PPA can contain 0-... number of pages. In most cases you just get html/js code and no pages. Some ppa have there own landing pages or sites. Tips: make shure that text/content is writen on white background. As simple as posibble design. Show picture of product (if any) and "order now / buy now" button on top of the page (before page fold). Use blue/purple (defoult) links, because all visitors know them. Don't use more then 1 font type and more then 2-3 different size/color of the font. Use Verdana or Arial font type... I wish you all the luck with business. Make shure to read more about ppa programs and landing pages before starting. That could save you some money.
thanks! great answers. i had a follow up question if you dont mind - with azoogle, they give you a landing page already right? its a single link, so what happens when i just put that in the code? i am starting with a blank domain right now...wont that not doing anything? do i create a template site with my own info and link out to the landing page they gave me?
I haven't work with azoogle yet. If they just give you link code, then you have to make your own landing page or you redirect your domain using that link that they gave you. Just make index page and redirect visitors to that code that you get.
To set up Google AdWords conversion tracking, you will need to place a snippet of code on your conversion confirmation pages (the 'Thank you for your purchase/subscription/visit' page). To obtain this code and begin tracking conversion data, click Conversion Tracking at the top of your account's Campaign Management tab. Then just click Create an Action and follow the steps of the set-up process. When you activate conversion tracking, Google will transparently assign an advertiser ID and enable conversion tracking for your account. The code snippet will show a visible Google Site Stats text block on the user-facing end pages to indicate that a conversion has been completed.
