    Hello

Im starting a forum, and i was thinking about buying 15000 posts from forum posters to get it started. So i would like to know what is a good amount of posts to have so the forum starts up nicely. Im going to put up some great threads my self to spark the intrest, but i want some mass behind me.

    Any ideas, suggestions or experiences?

    Thanks!

15,000 seems like a very good number. make sure you get that from lots of members. don;t let 20 or 30 members make 15k posts since they are paid. number of members are also important.

another thing to remember, once you have all the paid posts and you start the marketing, people (real traffic) will be wondering where did everyone go as they saw ton pf members and lots of posts when they joined. so make sure you continue to get paid posts even when you get some visitors at the beginning. slowly you can stop the paid posts once your member mase grows and you start getting decent amount of post from real members

Nice idea...Move on...but make time frame little bit more for 15k posts so that real visitors won't get surprised why people are posting so much posts at once without any nice intension

You could spread that to at least three months so that the visitors might not suspect that it is paid one. You can buy one on forumsfirst. Please put my username "Postman" as your referral.

it's very hard to get good quality paid posting unless you're either prepared to pay an unusual price (well above the minimum going rate). the thing about forums is they're for general chit chat, not quality content. if you want to draw in traffic from search engines via quality post content, make articles instead and then link to the latest forum posts from the pages of your optimised articles.

may be better to invest your money in marketing to get traffic and genuine forum users. and forum full of artificial chatters is very stale

Hey, if you're looking to pay forum members to post, let me know... but I would say get LOTS of active members and you should be fine. I think a lot of people tend to look at that number more than the total number of forum posts.

15000 posts should be more than enough to start up a forum. Make sure your forum is well indexed in Google that will attract a lot of organic traffic. Depending on your niche you should succeed. Good luck!

The forums I have were purchased off a previous owner. Some of the posts that he paid for are just rediculous and have tainted the site a little. I'm not sure what service he used but at least it added some (poor quality) content and made it look fairly active.

Check out the old posts on my site if you want to see some of the dribble that was posted.

15,000 would definitely be very nice, but you must be sure that will really attract real users. If it does not, you will have wasted money - lots of it!

Yes, im bit concerned about the posting quality, i would like to have some sort of quality control. I was just thinking that if i pay 0.05 to 0.10 per post, i cant really ask for much. Anyone know the current going rates for posts?

I have never bought posts because the quality is generally not trusted enough. I usually just build it up over time by attracting people through contests.

Its a bit of an odd situation setting up a forum. You want lots of content but you don't want to risk getting a load of crap. Nobody will post on an empty forum so you will need to fill it up with something, even if you do it yourself. By far the best way is to attract the relevant crowd....Can you not poach popular people off other forums by letting them moderate or something? They would undoubtedly bring some people with them.
