How to remove a category in my blog?

Hi,

I have recently switched over to my own domain and hosting from blogspot blog. Now I am seeing at least 55 categories in my blog. I do want to remove at least 45 categories. I dun know how to remove the categories of waste from my blog. will anybody clarify?

don;t know whether its same in all versions or not
go to
domain.com/wp-admin/edit.php
and select the cat you want to delete
and press the delete button on left side

This will help to remove the post than category. Will anybody share their idea?

 

Go to Manage --> Categories. Check off the categories you want to delete and hit the delete button. Just note that the posts from those deleted categories will be placed under your default category.
