    Not quite nowadays, the apples may be laced with pesticides, insecticides and what not. An Apple a day may keep the gal visiting the doctor far more regularly.

    Yes, maybe it's true. The apple shop owner near my house, he eats two apples a day and he never go to the doctor untill now.
