i don't know about your place, but in pakistan democracy sucks.. And people are always on the pity of corrupt pollitions. Since 2008 elections held in pakistan, lots of insitions have been closed, thousands of people have been transferred or dismissed. New democratic govt wants to FINISH every development MILLITARY govt did. They don't want pakistani people to be educated, that's why the first step they took was the destruction of Higher Education Commission. That means, every one can open a university any where, no need of accrediation, affiliation, ranking, NOCs and system. What about life and future of students? Who cares?
Islam and education? For many muslims education starts and ends with the Quran. Muhammad didn't have any education, so you think the believers in Muhammad worry about it? The more ignorant the muslims are the easier it is for the mullahs to control them. No one is surprised about the democracy problems not just in Pakistan, but in all muslim countries. Only secular muslim countries have a chance, but there is always the threat of the rise of the islamists. Islam and democracy? In which country they exist in peace? They will kill you if you are not in line with their teaching and speak against it. What democracy can you have if you cannot speak freely?
HAHAHAH IN kashmir Indian are killing muslims in Iraq USA started the war " and the reason that they got chemical weapon" did they find any thing ???? absolutley nothing..... Bush killed thousands of people there and still doing you think that's ethics no one is saying him any thing ..... why in Separated USSR states every where muslims are beaten by whom christian ...but no one is saying any thing in palestine, israel are killing people, with the help of USA but no one is ? saying any thing why why you people can only see muslims doing the terrorists activity no one try to know whats the background behind that... and about education and muslims just open up the history and you can see there were great muslims scientist from 500 to 1500 century, Chemistry, biology , physics every thing comes from muslims scientist. there was no english men at that time who was educated and know that much of the science....... its the muslims who transfer all the books and knowledge to europe. i admitt that today muslims are not much in science coz they are diverged into different issues created by the other community all over the world..... i know you would not admit even a single word which i said, coz the whole print media is in the hand of other religion. and u r watching and listening only those thing,,, if you want to find some thing go to your nearest mosque and observed what happend there and they let me know what you find there, if you are a man they do it and let me know what you find there, what people do there.... and about Muhammad and his education ....no matter as he told what ever God asked him to tell, he never add any thing by himself.... so it really does not matter whether he is educated or not....
College honours student winners Winners (left to right) Tamer Tunc, Laurelle Akintade and Huseyin Acar Huseyin Acar, 20, of Hackney, had very little grasp of the English language when he arrived here from Turkey, but in just a few years he has managed to get his GCSEs, AS and A-levels and has also been the student president for the past two years. He was awarded with the outstanding achievement awarded and the learner of the year award. He said: "When I came here I never thought I would achieve what I have. Now I am going to go to university to study architecture. "My father and brother are here to see me get my awards and they are so proud of me. I think awards like these are so important as it gives students something to aim at and gives their confidence a boost." http://www.islingtongazette.co.uk/c...=newsislg&itemid=WeED04 Apr 2008 16:47:48:520

Democracy is always messy, but frankly there is no better alternatives, it is the lesser of all the other political system devils.
C4Cyber, I don't believe the issue with the Pakistani educational system has anything to do with democracy. What you're describing could just as easily happen in a dictatorship. Your education will be valuable whether it is accredited or not, if you have the opportunity, I would take it. Don't feel alone either, in the US it can be extremely difficult to afford to go to school. It is not easy anywhere, try to hang in there.
