You never know. Microsoft always has some kind of surprise for us. IE8 might win this one. But then again FF has a lot of plugins and skins. But not a lot of people care about them. They just use whatever browser is on their computer. (i'm talking about average people)
yeah, I was doing some ill advised file & folder pruning (not even including the registry) and I dorked something up real bad. everything was a drag on the CPU
Something similar happened to me. Someone used my computer and downloaded a bug onto it. So I had to go into the Win32 folder and prune the infected files manually. Turned out the virus was still there and I couldn't be bothered with it so I just upgraded to Vista Home Premium.
I really can't understand how these numbers showing IE in the lead as far as market share are determined, It seems like every poll or place of public opinion I see gets completely dominated by Firefox.
you must hang around some smart folks then BUT on the other hand, average joe internet surfer guy or gal is clueless when it comes to options when choosing a browser!
The last surprise Microsoft gave us is Service Pack 3 and Windows Vista. I don't want more surprises from them.
SP3 cool, so when I reinstall XP_SP2 I don't have 87 security updates to install after the fact....that's how many there were...seriously. now what about SP3 makes it such that thy have to hold the consumer's hand like SP2 did in some ways? do they automatically turn on the firewall, anti-phishing, et al
SP3 has like 1,000 fixes and such for Xp plus back-porting of Vista features. For an OS they plan on dumping they sure are doing quite a bit to keep it up to par. Perhaps the petition has their attention... Click Here to save XP Over 164,000 signatures and going! Link your friends, link you blogs, link your everythings! Link your cat if you have to!
Depends how you see this browser war, I think they are both great. If you run a web design company then you have to check all browsers period - it's not all about who knows best and which browser is best, they both have to be up to the standards of the internet browsing world and these certainly tick the boxes, thanks.
It gets too boreing, all someone has to do with Active X, is say, ok delete ...dll. ActiveX is a security threat
