Finally guys, after 1 and a half years of hard work I am ready to launch my social network site which is geared towards a niche. This niche is huge and I have over 700 people on my waiting list for this launch. Does anyone know the best way to take advantage of this niche and how to monetize the community? I cannot really say much about the niche and what type of site it is but all I can say is the design of my website has a WOW factor. I hired a cheap web designer from Rentacoder and he has worked really hard. It only cost me $950 for the whole website. I have identified several business models on how I can make money from my website and might contact Advertising companies to see if they would be interested in advertising on my site. I heard some advertising companies pay thousands of dollars if they see potential. I think my site solves a problem for people. Thanks.
A launch is when you are about to "make your website go live" for the world to see. But before the launch you build interest and build a buzz
Yeah rentacoder ROCKS! Seriously we have gotten several project workers from there and the system is just perfect. I just hired this very taleneted and hard working person from Pakistan. It really shows that people there know how to work hard, we communicate mainly through google chat, and it works perfectly. I hope you get your site up and running, and have much success!
Thanks guys. Oh and my site launches just 2 weeks time I am excited because it is my passion and was my OWN IDEA that I thought of and to see it finally develop is like watching a child grow!
How do you make a waiting list of people? do you just have a form where they add their e-mail address? Btw can I get added to the waiting list: cskakun (a-t) gmail (d-o-t) com
yea thats pretty much how it works, make a landing page with some info, maybe a countdown(er?) and a mailing list form .
so it's just a form that inserts a persons e-mail address into a database and then you can mass send messages to them when you want, like a newsletter?
congratulations, sounds like you put a lot of time and effort into the community, im sure it will work out great for you.
Sounds like it's been a long wait and a lot of hard work. Nice to hear the project isn't costing you a whole lot. Hope it all works out well for you and I'll check it out once it's open. I'm opening a social network also, however it is for bands, musicians and fans(regular users). It's going to be opening the complete version in a few months. I can't tell anyone the name as of yet or all the details. Does anyone want to get added to my waiting list? I won't spam your inbox or sell your e-mail address because I want to build up a future community.
I would love to be on the waiting list.., Anyway, with my social network site a lot of planning went into it. I had to do a business/marketing plan and had to do a lot. You cant just launch one - most fail. You have to spot any problems in the market and see if you can solve their problem.
Definitely come back and release the information here. Seems like you have a good idea that has come to fruition - good luck with securing advertising dollars.
Thanks for the advice I'll try to do that, I'm taking to people, reading and trying to learn as much as I can. I'm always to willing to learn. BTW: do you know of any really good articles on this type of stuff? I've been reading a lot lately.
