Yeah so I don't know if this is the right place to post this, but it seems the most likely spot. I don't see a rate my BANS site section anywhere. Anyway can you guys take a look at my two stores and tell me what you think? http://www.comic-books-store.com http://www.crochetcreation.com
Hi, Well you did ask! 1. Get rid of the adsense - do you want to drive away your users for $0.15? 2. Add some content. 3. Add a most watched page, people like to see what is popular and a good way to drop some cookies (abeit they may not be working with epn but thats a different story) 4. Set your home page menus to closed. home page is way too long. 5. try to do something with your template, they look like BANS sites. good niches, the BANS forum have a pretty critcal bunch for some more feedback, you should try them also. good luck
Thanks for the review! I just got one question... How do you make a BANS site not look like a BANS site????? Also how do you make a Most Watched page?
you really got to play around with the template, you can go here www.myepnreport.com/directory/ and see some sites or the bans forum, check their sig links or go to the review my website page. or you can buy one for around $10-20 at JWRmedia, just google it. not my site and not an affiliate! for a most watched page just put this code in at the <> (html) prompt just change the yyyyyyyyyy to your camp id and the xxxx to the category number and your set. you get this from ebay in the tools section in your account. also put in a place where your user can sign up for ebay, acrus are worth $25 from ebay us
No, go to editor kit and where it says Search keywords put something obscure in like xxxyyy, something that will NOT be found in ebay then under that you have a section titled "When Editor Kit returns no search results" just tick the box that says "Show Most Watched Items in the following category" put in your catergory number...et voila!
Great site! I'd suggest that you add more unique contents to your sites, as they look rather "thin" which Google is not really fond of. You can do this by adding tips, guide, tutorial, youtube video etc. You can refer to my blog below for traffic generation methods (the post is quite lengthy so i won't post it here ). Let me know if you need further helps !
I plan to add a lot of stuff. I'm still getting settled with the overall design first. Check out the new menu graphics I added! That little addidtion changed to overall feel of the site in my opinion. http://www.comic-books-store.com I'm also think about building another BANs site, BUT I'm going to create it from scratch in photoshop and slice it up. It'll be totally unique!
Add some more content and make sure the home page contains some good chunk of unique contents...the design is not bad and avoid adsense in the other site....Make sure to have some contents in both home pages as always said content is the king
I just made a new background using comic covers. I like it but I think maybe its a bit too much. Can you guys give me your opinions?
Aswesome header. I'd suggest that you test and track with different header/background/fonts to see which convert best.
the background of the comic book site is too crowded i think. more transparent would be better IMHO. I just developed a site about travel guide using eBay WS 2 days ago, but loading time seems a bit slower than yours.
I have the same problem with my sites. Its the eBay trader api. Its really slow. We need to be squeaky wheels.
one cause of slow loading is that there is invalid code on the site. BANS stores start off being valid but by the time the owner adds this and that and other banners and code almost always some code is corrupted and this can cause slow site loading amongst other problems. It is always good to have a compliant site as this will also help with google and seo. many sites are around to validate your site, a good one is http://www.w3schools.com/site/site_validate.asp. it can take a while to get the bugs out but is worth it.
Go to BloggerUnleashed and watch all the videos Vic has regarding BANS, I think they will help you a great deal. Rhonda
