I did an experiment now using a software that collect emails from website, I scanned forums.digitalpoint.com
you wont believe that I got more then 30 emails in the first 5 minutes.

most of you post their email address and that's not safe, and I was wondering why I always get spam related to web marketing right to my inbox.

Shawn, you are using VB so please find something that turns emails into java script so we will be protected and we will get more freedom sharing our info.

    something like this but automated:

if people are foolish enough to post their email address anywhere,
thats their problem. why should Shawn or anyone for that matter
try and protect that info if they post it in a public area?

i got no sympathy for those folks.

you can't protect people from themselves, unfortunately they'll have to learn the hard way.
after reading your first post i decided to google my email addresses, i was pleased to see only 1 result.

I have spam protection on any live email I post, I don't post the email I talk to my family and friends with or one I check often ;)

You should have an email account for junk mail if you are going to post it in a public area.
You should not use your main email address.

    that is not neccessary
everyone knows posting email publicly is not a safe idea
they dont need to know about spiders and such to get common sense to that

So that software can find everyone's email even if we don't post it or have it public in our profile?

If people are stupid enough to post their emails in this public forum then they deserve spam.

The profile has an option to have to download the email instead, or to not show it.
