Pausing/Unpausing Campaigns And Performance - Do these go under review Again?

I paused a content campaign last night that was going full force so that I could make some modifications to my website, when I unpaused it last night as of today it's still not getting any impressions? Please note that I made no changes to the campaign itself.

When unpausing, do my adgrounds need to be re-reviewed again? Why is it taking so long? I have heard that instead of pausing an adgroup, it is better to just lower the max cpc bid to $.01 instead so that your ad is still running. Maybe I should have done this instead as the performance is pretty brutal when pausing/unpausing.

    Anyone else share this experience?

If no changes have been made to your ads, there's no reason as to why they should need to be reviewed again. I think your problem lies elsewhere.

As to the statement about dropping your CPC instead of pausing, that just sounds ridiculous. Which moron told you that? Pause your campaigns; never reduce your CPC in its stead. By lowering your CPC, you will lose your ad position, your CTR will drop, and you'll have to fight to get back into the spot that you lost.

Thanks Dude, I read it in WickedFire where if you just lower your bids down to where you get zero impressions, it will be easier to get rolling again as opposed to pausing/unpausing.

How long does it normally take to get a paused campaign actively spitting out impressions? I've paused/unpaused before and never had this big of a lag.

Whenever I unpause campaigns, they kick off straightaway, within 15 minutes or so. Run an Ads Diagnostic Tool check to see why your ads aren't running. I can't think of anything else at the moment.

I "chatted" (online) with Google Support and he looked into my account and campaign history to see what could be possibly holding it up, and he said that there is nothing wrong and that it's just taking a while to kick back in.

Fair excuse I guess, however a half day outage from resuming a campaign would potentially lose people alot of money (I am not one of them as I'm building myself up now).

many times I have noticed it could take up to 24 - 48 to get re-syndicated on their networks. Same as when you just launched your first time.

Also, I have noticed that bidding higher on initial launch, turns things on faster.

I've always heard that you just don't want to mess with your URL. Ad changes should be okay. I've never had any problems when changing or adding new ads.

Expect it to take one full day to get back to full distribution when you un-pause.
