Quality versus Quantity

If you had about $60 to spend on directory submissions, would you use it to buy 1000+ submissions from a reliable mass submissions house, or would you spend it on 2 or 3 submissions/"reviews" to reputable high-ranking directories? I'd be interested to hear which you'd choose and the rationale behind your choice. Thanks!

Id grab some $5 regular permanent listings in some reasonably looked after directories.

If I had $60 to spend on my directory, I wouldn't be messing with promoting a directory to begin with.
Just an honest .02 perspective of my own.

With only $60 to spend for promoting a directory I think the first thing I would do is give up...

What I would suggest is to go to directory critic and start submitting yourself to all the free directories you can find. Also hit the announcements area here and submit to all the free directories there.

After you have saved yourself by submitting to the free ones yourself take the $60 and submit to some quality paid directories.

No one said I was promoting a directory. Read the initial post and try again ;)

    Ditto. I think you misunderstand.

Your right - I thought you were talking about a directory. But the advice for promoting still applies.

Do the free submissions yourself and use the money to submit to paid directories.

If I had about $60 to spend on directory submissions, I would you spend it on 2 or 3 submissions/"reviews" to reputable high-ranking directories because it is better to have only some links in better submissions than a mass submission in not so reputable directories. When i spend the money on it, i would do manual submissions for free to some more directories to spread the links. I also would use them in forums.
