no. of indexed pages keep going down

I have several websites and i've noticed that the number of Google indexed pages is going down.

Can you give me an explanation for this?

google is doing an algo update for the last couple of days and you will notice serp fluctuations along with index changes and rollbacks

 

I have noticed that a new site of mine was ranked the same day I put it up, the site isnt new, but the content it was ranking me on was. The site is not a big site that I would think google would recognize quickly. Of course this explains it.

I have a problem with backlinks changing from day to day. It varies by 3,000 from day to day.

 

How old is your site?

 

Ive noticed mine have gone down recently but that was because i wasnt updating it as much as i previously did, when i started again it then went up but it takes a few days to get back to what it previously was.

 

same happened to a few blogs i had-- i think it was because i added content too quickly

 

Over the past few weeks my pages in the index have dropped across most of my sites. Not sure what is going on, but I figure everything will be fine... I'm not doing anything black hat, so I have no need to worry.
