As the title says... I wanna buy a Mac. Can you share your experience with your Macs? Are they cool or what? Another question: Is a MacBook Air worth buying?
They're all just computers. I use PCs, Macs and Ataris (and even an Amiga occasionally!). They're all good, but they're still only computers. The argument that Macs are better for A/V stuff is bullshit. I do a lot of print design & audio work, and I prefer to work on a (Windows) PC. A friend of mine does exactly the same stuff, and does it all on a Mac. The tools do the same job - it's the finished product that matters, and when it comes down to it, it's all just 1s and 0s. Most software is available for Mac and PC, and most software can share files between the two. If you're buying a computer because it's "cool", then ignore everything I've just said ... and go buy an Atari.
I use Mac's and I'm lovin' them. Don't think it's smart to go with MBA since it's your first Mac and they may release upgraded MBA this June.
Well last year I bought two PCs both with Vista. I told myself that would be the last time I ever waste my money on a product from MS. Never again, from now it's all MAC.
Mac? Really? They are the dark side. You don't want to join the dark side... Macs are pretty much you paying loads for something which has worse hardware than you could get in a PC for that price. I don't know about you, but i'd rather have a better computer than be able to tell people that i'm somehow cool cause I have a mac.
I have a Mac and it looks really cool, and thats what you pay for, the negatives are a high purchase price and expensive software. My Toshiba has better specs for less money, but looks less cool. Its up to you.
I have to say a Mac is love hate. I've been using both over a year. One is a iMac desktop the other is my Alienware Laptop. They both get 50% use. Performance wise, I have two systems that are very fast, but where I notice lag on the Mac comes when your working with Programming. Whenever I have a lot of lines of code, the mac will actually freeze or run very slow, it looks like a caching issue. The make likes to cache everything before you use it - It runs faster this way, but it you bother it while it's still caching, it will freak out. When it comes to design on the mac, it's awesome. "Expose" feature that mac has increase my workflow by 50%. Something I wish PC had. Hope this helps yah.
I do graphic design for a living and I've been using a Mac 8 hours a day for the past decade. Save money and build yourself a computer with windows xp cause that's what I use at home and it rocks! If you really want to be cool use Linux.
I hated macs, but I bought a macbook anyway to see what it was like, I hated it for the first week and was looking into sending it back for a refund, but after that week of teething, I loved it. Now I hardly ever use Windows.
The only problem is that on a PC no matter how good it is the crappy OS sucks all the juice... In the end all the hardware doesn't deliver any extra performance.
Macbook Air is sexy, I've never liked Macbook Pro because I move around a lot and it's too big to lug around. Problem with Macbook Air is it's so damn expensive and not worth it if you've already got a perfectly good Macbook. I can't remember the last time I used a CD or DVD though.
Totally agreed. The Macbook Air is really OVERPRICED.Maybe they'll lower the prices in the next update..who knows. And yeah,I think I haven't used the CD for ages, the last time I used a CD was on my PC to reinstall XP.
Not heard of macbook air and its reviews, but i read online reviews as its just cool Btw i have a regular Macbook Pro, its awesome and speed.. worth the price!
They both have their pros and cons but you should at least use a mac to decide whether or not you would like using it before you make your final decision.
