China took off like a rocket ship yesterday, up 9%. This helps solidify my thoughts that they are clueless, carry on.

Chinese love to gamble, their stock market is a huge gambling den, I can't imagine what will happen when it collapses.

It was down like 50% or something from it's 52 week highs. It was taking a beating up until recently.

It is still very high, I would expect it to go down together with its housing, the appreciation of value is even worse than in USA. The sub prime crisis in USA will be enacted in China a few times over....

My Chinese professor was telling me he earn a million from speculating, that was last year, havent asked him how's he doing recently :)

You couldn't live comfortably without Chinese made goods.

A good chunk of your standard of living is subsidized by people who work for rock bottom, near slave labor rates. If you had to pay them a fair wage to make the products you buy, you wouldn't be able to buy those products.

So resent the Chinese all you want. But you might be wiser to save that resentment for when they turn the faucet off and stop taking green backs.

No you don't! Where is your computer made? Open it up and look at all the parts and where they are made. Mouse, keyboard almost everything is made in China, so stop lying to yourself and somehow pretend that you are better than most, cause you want to or not, your consumption is directly or indirectly heavily dependent on China.

I would certainly hope so. The arrogance of those Saudis and Iranians need to be curbed. What goes up must come down. Hoping for a $10/barrel soon. Don't discount that. In life, nothing is impossible.

At the least all the monitors are made in China. But the less you buy (waste) the less chinese goods you will have. Most of the stuff is unnecessay.

So your cars/motorcycles, TV, stereo, computers (desktop and laptop), fridge/stove/dishwasher, washer/dryer, and heating system are all 100% made in America?

How about the phones in your house? Cell/pager?

    Got an electric razor? Flashlight?

I'm not even going to get into all of the Asian labor and goods that goes into the finished goods you purchase.

Best of luck on that one! Our thirst for oil is far more critical than the Saudis thirst for money, so if you think they will drop the price of oil especially with a falling dollar you are dreaming. Get ready to pay $5 a gallon by year's end friend. America is heading towards a 2 class system, the haves and have nots.

Oil is heading for $150 as the Fed is more interested in a housing bailout than the US ecomomy. There's a good chance that the Fed with cut rates .5 percent at the end of the month.
