For people who get more then 1000 hits a day...

    How do you do it? I'm number one in my niche for a few very high end keywords/phrases and have sitelinks for a few of them as well and I only yield about 600 hits a day.

    Is it just sheer search engine traffic? Do you guys do have adword/YPN campaigns?

    Where do you get your traffic from?

    I get mine usually from SEO. What i would do is just send a couple of months totally focusing on SEO.

    do u mean 1000 hits or 1000 unique visitors or 1000 pageviews? Cos i think 1000 hits is a bit low.... even if i get like 100 unique visitor a day i get like over 5000 hits....My average is 9000 hits a day

    For this month, I'm projected to have over 1 million pageviews again (from my only website).

    I can tell you that it's not all from search engines.

    About 400,000 pageviews are from search engines. 500,000 pageviews are from direct traffic (which I believe are mostly my repeat daily visitors), and 100,000 from referring websites (message boards, etc).

    I don't pay a single penny for advertising. However, I do pay with my time.

    I learned a long time ago not to reveal my website on this board.

    As far as how I get those numbers, I have no problems with sharing my "secrets".

    When I started my website, I utilized MySpace to market the product. What a lot of people fail to realize is that you don't have to spam MySpace in order to use it effectively to promote your website. I actually built up a community on there for my niche. That helped to instantly expand my daily visitors.

    I had a website that gets +2000 uv a day easy. Unfortunately that was an adult site. Now with non adult site. I'm don't event get 10% of that.

    from search engine you will get visitors if they are interested in your keyword...Competiting for high searching keyword is really hard...

    My sources are:-
    Social bookamrking
    google
    live
    yahoo
    direct (mouth advertising)
    and ome other simple techniques like link back etc.

    I dont like to use adwords or others not because they take money but because it let me force to surf the internet to find new ways to get more and more traffic. Its not been very long time since i m in this market. however i have learned that much that i can get top position every time on google

    I agree that Myspace is really effective without spamming users, the traffic was really impressive however I have shifted my focus to SEO now :)
