$300k for Honda Civic ? Are you joking ? Probably $30k, right ? I know Singapure (or Africa) have VERY ridiculous prices for cars. Like $50k after all for Toyota Corolla, but $300k ? Come on....especially 3% insurance.

I used to own a Civic, it really was a great car.

It was crushed between an SUV and a full-size truck. Nothing survived except the driver.

I'm just pointing out the fallacious nature of the argument. Sure, many people in the USA are bad with money. But others, millions and millions of people, are among the wealthiest in the world.

There are a lot of idiotic generalizations being touted as this forum. Time to look at both sides of the story.

 

Insurance costs here in the U.S. vary widely, based upon:

• Where you live
• How old you are
• Your gender
• Your driving record
• Your marital status

I'm old and married and I don't pay half as much as when I was young and wild.

 

I pay $135 per six months for insurance on a pretty new car for two drivers. Of course I have never made a claim on my insurance, and my driving record is perfect.

Lots of factors to consider if you think it is cheap here. Ask Will Spencer, he probably has lots of details on what is cheap and what is expensive in each country.

For instance housing. Here you can get a small city lot with nothing on it for about $80,000 down from about $100-120k a couple years ago. Finally prices for some small 3 bedroom houses are around $200k and need work.

To have a cavity filled you are looking at $150 cash if you are like us without any insurance.

Car insurance is competitive and I pay about $30 per month on full coverage on a van, I am over 25, married, with good credit and good driving record. My ss# is 712-87-3421, DOB 4-5-77, and my .... j/k

Some food items are cheaper here than say Dominican Republic, but there are some food items more expensive as well.

 

One car (Pontiac Bonneville). Plus I live in a low crime area. If you live in an area where car thefts are higher, the insurance goes up a lot.

Something tells me we have the same prices in Ukraine.
