I picked up a decent keyword domain - http://www.signlanguagetutorial.com/. I researched keyword perfomance with the adwords keyword tool. I found a clickbank product with a decent sales page - http://www.rocketlanguages.com/sign-language/premium/ I spent around $50 in Adwords PPC and have $0 in my clickbank account. Why do I always waste money like this?
Although I keep hearing of people trying to buy traffic and then have them click I do not see how it could work, given the small percentage of visitors to the average site that click. That said your domain could easily be developed - If you know nothing about ASL then do some studying, lift some Wikipedia text, mix and re-write it so that google does not consider it the same, link to it and let it grow for a while.
And what does that have to do with me trying to promote a CB product? I wanted to direct link for the easy and quick results that people have talked about achieving from doing it. I dont know anything about landing pages so wouldn't of known how or what to include when making one. That's why I linked to this product as i though it's sales page was good.
It's really pain in the ass when we can't achieve our goal, but remember our life is about gambling with our fate so just keep trying, testing, and stick with your plan- one day it will happens. I am not a successful person with CB affiliate but I would love to try my best and hope I can get some decent sales... I hope everyone will try harder and we grow together.
what are some of the keywords you are using? take a look at this landing page: http://www.learn-sign-language.net/ remember you should only target usa for this one are you using keywords like: how to learn sign language where to learn sign language sign language teacher sign language lessons online sign language lessons rocket sign language rocket languages sign buy rocket sign language buy rocket languages sign order.... join... purchase.... website.... http://www.rocketlanguages.com/sign-language/premium/ www.rocketlanguages.com/sign-language/premium/ http://www.rocketlanguages.com/sign-language www.rocketlanguages.com/sign-language/premium/ rocketlanguages.com/sign-language/premium/ rocketlanguages.com/sign-language im not promoting this one but i hope this helps you (i am promoting rocket german though)
If you ask experienced PPClickers, they will tell you to build a simple landing page for a product, because nowadays direct linking doesn't work that good as it was working few years ago. Even if you don't have any web development skills, I think you can create something on Blogger or Wordpress about the product you are promoting... Change the domain of your blog to your one (related to the product), and use it for Adwords.
I don't think you've tested enough as you should have and from the sounds of it, you've dived in with both feet. If you've been listening to successful PPCers and kind of got an idea that direct linking might just work to make you some money, then forget it. All you need to do is just sit down for a second and then really focus on going after the market. This means that you should go do some competitor analysis by monitoring the sites which have the most ads on Google and seeing which sites ads have been there the longest, etc. When you find a merchant who seems to be doing alright (I.E his ads are staying there for weeks) then just copy him. If he's using a landing page, make a similar one. IF he's direct linking then look at his ad copy and placement. If he's got his own mini site then create your own. If you copy what successful people are already doing, then your success will be accelerated 10 times quicker than if you just go it alone. All you're doing by copying is elevating yourself to their level of success MAX (it will probably be lower to be honest) but either way, you're still using proven methods which work. Now all you need to do when you get successful is improve their marketing so that you can excel their level of success.
ppc is about tracking, split testing, product presentation, lead building tweaking and tuning. Before diving in an wasting that $50 adword coupon i would look at the competition and see what kind of keywords they are targeting. A way to do some investigation is find out where your competition is at as far as bidding on keywords. Do some research and see if they are either trying to brand their product or convert sales by the types of competitors you find in adwords. If you see money being spent its usually for the reason, money is being made. Think outside the box and figure out alternative ways to approach your competition while reworking your landing pages to get the best conversion based on multi variable testing (changing more then one thing at a time to find the best results) which is easy if you have a high flow of traffic. Otherwise if your working with only a few hundred hits i would use flow testing (creating a landing page with multiple pages to gauge how many customers read your offer) so you can see if your failing on your first page or not.. Well i hope this helps you understand a little more on how to get some better conversions.. Its a lot of work that i think many of us dont realize. I wish it was as simple as setting a campaign up for 1000 keywords and firing them off at a link redirect or landing page with no worry of tracking. But i guess if you want to get the best out of your buck its like tuning a sports car you just purchased $2000 worth of parts for, its going to run like crap if you dont tune it.
Affiliate Marketing is not just about direct linking, slapping ads on google..You need good landing page, quality score etc. There are thousands of factors.50$ is nothing..I've lost a lot more then that when testing new stuff.I'd recommend you to promote CPA offers instead.CB sucks IMO.
@popedope & Hierarchy thanks for the good advice. I'm doing a lot of research on CB right now. I've been avoiding making landing pages for weeks but I'm ready to give it a shot. Both of you have been given 10 green reps
I'm sure some people do well with Clickbank and PPC marketing, but I haven't. The best way I sell Clickbank products is to pick a product, build a site around that product, populate the site with really long informative articles relevant to that product and build links to that site. I also include a review of the product somewhere on that site. It takes time this way, sometimes 6 months or more for the site to get onto Google's front page and start bringing in a lot of organic traffic. In the end though, this sites are worth the hard work. Just a thought if you want to make $$ with Clickbank. TxDon
I have notice that having landing pages with info product convert much better, I'n not using adwords though, try bummarketing, its risk free.
Look you need to expect to do some work - my blog on making money online is so far a project in progress - It only a couple of weeks old - first goal - get it index by the search engines - hence I've written some articles, get traffic - hence the articles, signature links and a few posts - I now have had at least 1 sale - if not more (definitely one because I only advertise that particular clickbank product on this blog) but this project is to run for YEARS - if it made a sale every two weeks (i.e. at its current rate) - say $30 a month - thats $360 a year - not bad for one blog that took only a couple of hours work. But that's on the current rate - once I've done some more things to increase page rank and advertise and increase the traffic its income potential is huge. Quick and Easy - get some perspective you should be aiming for things over a period of months - not days. I'd try some SEO tactics first and get that right before jumping into PPC - its a way to lose money really fast if you don't know what you are doing.
Unfortunately there is a lot of crap in the clickbank marketplace. It's just a matter of trial and error.
