    Hi Guys...

I am trying to post my first poll here so bear with me.

    My question is this:

When it comes to a basic logo contest how would you like the prize divided?

    1. Pay all of the prize to the first place winner... ($40)

    2. Pay the first place winner a big portion ($35) and the second place winner a little bit ($5)...

    3. Pay the first place winner half the prize total ($20) and divide the other half up between 2nd ($10),3rd ($5),4th($5) place winners.

I think the contests here are underpaid.

Sorry but that is not an option in the poll:)

But if your sig about making $10,000/month is true then I would have to say that I agree with you.

Contests here are underpaid, take a look at 99designs for more accurate contest prizes.

I think its better for all the money to go to a winner, or a bit to the second place.

Like everything in life it exist because people let it exist.

If 5 dollars was too cheap for a contest, and no one entered, they'd be forced to raise the price or not hold any 5 dollar contests anymore.

Hell just the other day someone had a 2 dollar contest and a few people entered and someone won.

As long as people will work for the smaller prizes it'll be around. Then again the quality work you get for such low priced contests will show in the final product. :D

As for me, all should go the first place winner unless the submissions are so good there is only a first place winner because the contest holder can't use both. Then split it two, maybe three ways.

    Technokelvin,

It seems that the results that I have seen agree with you. When I throw contests where all the prize goes to one winner I get very few submissions but they are usually really good. When I split the prize too much I get a lot of designs that were obviously thrown together in about 10 seconds just with the hope they win something.

I am with splitting the prize usually, because i like to see more people win/get rewarded.
But if what you say is the usual case, then maybe it's not a good thing to spread the prize.
