Is buying one way PR links worthwhile?

I am considering buying a number of one way pagerank 3+ links to my site.
Is this an effective method for increasing the page rank of my site?

It all depends where you are buying them from I guess. Make sure that the pages do have decent traffic so you can get visitors from referred from that source as well... unless you are buying purely to boost PR ...

Right, i am after both increased traffic and page rank. Is there a site where you can hand pick the individual links that you want to buy?

Well, find a site that has high PR, check their alexa rank to get an estimate of the traffic, then contact the webmaster for it.

Or, you could try other link building tips and techniques that are free.

    Thanks for the advice.
How much would a page rank 4 one way link for a year cost on average?

Find websites with high traffic versus pr and I think you will benefit more. To me the pr only links really haven't panned out for me when I tried it years ago. I focus on spreading the word and getting people on site versus solely on pr. Sites with big traffic will as a side effect gain good pr over the long haul. I guess it depends what you want in the end though.

I think you need to educate yourself some more in this area before you plunge in and spend a lot of money on links. Then you will learn what kind of links are best for your situation and how to spend your money wisely, or a lot of it could be wasted.

Is it effective? Sure, but I would make sure to only buy links on sites with related content.

You'll be throwing your money away if you buy links on directories, link farms, or even sites that have nothing to do with your site's industry/market/product etc.

The following site provides FREE Alexa top sites list download: http://www.livelybrowser.com/topsiteslist/

Whether or not the links are purchased on a related theme site does not matter at this day. To prove my point, check out the footer link on this page. The SEO company in that link ranks in the top ten for the highly competitive SEO keyphrase "search engine optimization." SEO and sewage have nothing in common.

Their backlinks come from fishing lure websites, nursing home websites, hemmeroid websites, cow horn websites, and even a down syndrome website. There are just too many unrelated sites to list.

That's what I always wonder about...Is relevancy really doesn't matter as long as the link is 1 way? Some say yes, some say no, this really make me confuse

There's nothing confusing about it. Relevancy does not matter. However, links from completely unrelated sites makes it easy for competitors to identify and report.

The algortithms of tomorrow may be able to detect relevancy, so one should think long term and how todays SEO can become tomorrows nightmare.

    hmm..Thanks Snowbird :D

Get related/unrelated 1 way link and only exchange reciprocal link with related theme, that's how I manage my linking currently, I hope it's fine.

Yeah, you're totally right, but what I mean is that's not going to work forever. Google is working on devaluing "obvious" paid links, as well as directory links and links that aren't related to the content.

At least that's what they say.... (and I kind of hope it's true because any information that's valid will help us make decisions)

Before you decide, you should gather some informations of what's the best thing to do when buying a PR, because that you spend lots of money if don't know what to do. I would suggest you that don't just buy PR if it's not that relevant to you.OK?

If you're trying to up your PR, I would suggest you go higher than PR 3 for your purchases.
