Tomorrow is a big day

We all have our little secrets, problems and things that we don't tell others. I think it got a bit too much for me. I've been avoiding my problems for a while now. Tomorrow is the day I face them and sort them out once and for all. Tomorrow will determine the rest of my life.

Do you know how much uni work I did this year? Out of 14 bits of course work and 2 exams I did 0. One of the things I will do tomorrow is tell my parents that I pretty much fucked up. :( Then try to sort out a retake if that can even be done.

That's just one of the things I need to do. Not looking forwards to it... But that will be a mountain off my chest. I will be able to breathe again.

Sorry about that mate, I am having a bit of downtime this semester myself as well
and yes telling the truth out is the best.

Well I dont think retake can harm you though and I believe most graduate schools will accept and treat it like any other's.

I believe it'll go well afterwards mate. Just dont give up no matter what. Trying is better than giving up :)

Good luck on your venture. Many great people have dropped out of university - or not even started in the first place - and made a great career and life for themselves.

I'm sure you'll be alright, keep at whatever makes you happy.

The pursuit of happiness, I believe;)

Thank you guys! Really appreciate your positive comments.

I completely agree but it is going to be a hard job explaining this to my old fashioned parents who have 5 degrees between them.

Then remember - experience counts more than a bit of paper. At the end of the day, if I can buy 500 sheets of paper from Asda for £1.88, it doesn't say much for that one sheet of paper, does it?;)

Oh, and if push comes to shove, just listen to some Bob Marley - every little thing is gonna be alright:D

That is a tough pill to swallow. It could be worse though right, you could have knocked up the GF, got your tongue pierced and owe $50K to Vegas bookies.

Good luck and let us know how long you are grounded for :)

he probably should have started off with "I have AIDS." then let that shock settle in...then say "I don't really have aids, but I did f up in school." then they will be happy and that will outweigh their anger

He caught it from a rough trick named Jim

However, something tells me his parental units would not appreciate "but the good news is" following that particular announcement!

I'm sure your parent will be supportive - sometimes you just need a break!

    Good luck

Expect the worst and prepare for it.

Sometimes you may be pleasantly surprised when the "confrontation" happens.
