The most profitable skill is practice what you have learned. Nothing can beat that. You can keep on learning and gaining knowledge but till the time you don't put your knowledge to work, it will be of no use.
Creativity only makes artists money. Sales and marketing skills have made me a lot of money. Go get a sales job and start reading up on sales and marketing. You will learn concepts which will improve your 6th sense of what people buy and why. You can use this knowledge to help yourself make a boatload of buckaroos.
Take step-wise to whatever skills you intake. But start immediately if you think your ideas works by doing some research of your own. Good Luck Mate!
My husband has been writing programs/coding for about 15 years now, he just got a contract for $20K for about 3 weeks worth of work - he makes good money, works for himself, and there is always tons of work.
not only skill but patience, persistence and determination. you won't go anywhere without these three. but the most important I think is with people.
I also think that knowing how to market/sell your product is very important. for example, if your a programmer(like me) but you don't know how to market what you've programmed, your either is the rat race or your just doing it for free. I know you can work for a big company and make lots of money but it's just the rat race. The rat race keeps you fed but also keeps you in dept. Marketing your own creations opens a whole new door. I've heard some people say, "it's not the product it's how well you market it", however I think you can make the most out of a good product. It's all about knowing who to sell to. Laziness is evil, so if it comes knocking tell it to fuck off!
this is with which I agree a LOT if you are lazy than you just cannot win anything ...even any small stuff... I see my friends and so I know it. They have the potential but they just won't get through. It is only because of laziness..!!
knowing how to resell, you could make a living reselling practically anything.. knowing market prices
Hmm.. I see most of you suggesting PHP. Anyone know some good sites that will help you get PHP projects?
Well very profitable are creativity, imagination and something like this you know, but these are not skills, this is something you are personally. About skills, well hard work is a skill, patience is not. Sometimes it's good, but sometimes you should know where you should wait for something and or to it right away. So i guess knowing what to do is also a great skill, you can learn that with practice. just do something alot
Haha, nice one man, actually every business is reselling. Just imagine, if you have purchased something like door, you have to pay company who will install it, but they didn't made it right they bought it from other company who are shipping doors to your country and so on
For me, I think you should have creativity and knowledge / ability in webpublishing. Then pour out that creativity to a website / blog / weblog. Add Google Adsense. Business talk your way to forums so that people will check your site (Advertise). Continue updating your website with interesting stuffs so that people will get back to it from time to time. Kachiiing!!! Money in the bag!
