This is an excellent, excellent article for explaining the negative impact of printing fiat currency.

This is really significant in the long run. I've approached the local GOP a few times, but I felt like the odd one out. My city is squarely in on the outskirts of the Bible Belt and we have a major Navy base so "conservatism" here is basically just Jesus and the military. Its changing slowly, but this is area going to be one of the last hold-outs.

McCain doesn't have the message that will ignite the Republican party and build momentum into the future. Even if elected, I think he'll be a disaster for the party in the short-run. Republicans are going to need a more inclusive message moving forward and I think Ron Paul's genuine, liberty-driven conservatism is the most optimistic path.

Politicking is an art that many Paulistas haven't learned yet. Sucking it up, and focusing on the platform positions that are common, like fiscal responsibility and defense of the Constitution.

Some Paulunteers are abrasive and obnoxious, they also don't see the long view, that they might have to dedicate their lives to promoting liberty, not just one weekend at a county convention.

In the long run, the GOP is going to gain a lot of liberty oriented activists, and be better off for it. The party badly needs to get away from it's image as religious warmongering crooks.

Totally. I think that is why Paul has focused on the youth, and on college campuses as opposed to retirement communities and chambers of commerce. The future of the GOP is in the hands of the under 30 crowd, not the over 50 folks.

Interesting first hand account from the Alaska GOP Convention.

    http://www.lewrockwell.com/orig9/keller-jeremy1.html

Start reading about 1/3rd through, at the bold title.

Corruption in the Alaskan GOP and Party Civil War

Before that point, it's a little boring and long winded.

This is lame fascist gestapo tactics by the GOP.

Email tells delegates to applaud -- and stay out of politics at RNC convention
    http://www.minnpost.com/stories/200...--_and_stay_out_of_politics_at_rnc_convention

They are trying to tell delegates to just stand and clap at the convention, don't try to actually conduct any party business.

What a joke. But we'll fix that in an election cycle or three!

Well, of course not. There was a media blackout on him.

But he's still flush with cash, and there are a lot of Republicans running on similar platforms for Congress.

The "Paul Congress". 6 of them will be on the General Election ballot already.

Ah, a "media blackout." Either that, or he failed to clearly demonstrate how his viewpoint would help America to concerned voters.

Are you still donating to the cause?

With like 1/10th the media coverage of the other candidates, he gathered 800,000 votes (and counting). He outraised all Republican candidates in the 4th Q of 2007. He beat Giuliani and Thompson over and over again.

There are metrics that show how many mentions and coverage candidates get. Paul outperformed his coverage significantly. Perhaps better than any candidate before him. And it's because the message is American. It still resonates with intelligent and thoughtful voters.

I don't believe the campaign is accepting donations any longer. They have $5 million in the war chest. I am supporting other Ron Paul Republicans in the congressional bids.

    This fantastic ad

    http://alcpac.com/

Was played in Pennsylvania. Here was the schedule with pricing.

Look how cheap Headline News is during the day, when purchased bulk. Crazy!

    http://alcpac.com/high_tide_philly.html

They are still trying to raise money to play the ads in the following states.
IN, NC, NE, ID, KY, OR, NM, SD

That ad always makes me get all teary eyed. How many other candidates have supporters doing cutting edge CG spots like that?
