** Does being on the CONTENT NETWORK add to Backlinks??

    I see that some of my competitors sites have backlinks that are coming from pages that are displaying content network ads.

    Does being on the content network automatically create backlinks? Or the illusion of backlinks?

    So when I do links: domainname.com to my competitors sites, and see results that are pages that display content network ads, this is not a real result? Not a solid "real" back link, right?

    If that's what you're seeing then either they, or the site the ads are on are doing something dodgy - adsense ads are javascript and google shouldn't be crawling them. They do get picked up by scraper sites from time to time, though.

    Maybe these are scraper sites? What is a scraper site exactly?
