Yeah I noticed that people still post in every thread regardless of the sticky at the top. A mod should come along and slap on the infractions for it.

I've stopped posting in there now that i got a warning. I was one of those folks who didn't read the sticky.

Why not make it so threads can be created but no one can reply to them. People could just PM the thread creator and say "thanks for the offer" about 20 times a day.

Its still confusing why the senior directory owners who had real directories are still hiding and not discussing something against the QBC's who are giving everyone a bad name.

There is not much to be done, really you can only concentrate on your own business and try and make it better in the hopes that the crap will float to the bottom and get burried over time. Complaining on these forums is not going to really help, trust me I have tried.....I pleaded with folks to stop submitting to these scammers before but it really falls on deaf ears because most folks love to get something for free, even if they are really not getting anything at all.

You will also never get those threads moderated because mods can't judge the quality of a directory nor the intentions of it's owner.

amit it's not the point to support u or anyone. It's the point whether we are old dir owners or new ones, we should come out of it.

You are right dude i was intrested in just replying thats why i didn't even open all those links which u posted,i just don have time yaar. And pls let people do whatever they are doing and these days clients are not dumb, these days they research before any order and we can't fool them now. Btw now i came to know what and whom you are talking about ;)

Amit here is it suggestive post or supportive post?
(here i clearly said that dir submission is not good at all.)

Well Amit u know for last one year i am strictly against DIR submissions. So i am not supporting anyone but telling people to pls come out of this shit. Whether it's u, me or R ;)

Mikey.. you are right. I made that mistake myself and got infractions so mods are actually working :) but they can take some time.

Regarding making a 'sticky' post for guidelines to a 'good' directory. I am totally 'in' for that.

YMC, I can't green you any more just yet, but as usual you're on the ball. Part of the problem is the "submit to 8000 directories for $15" services which feed these directories with content.

A sticky guide to good directories might have some use, although it's got to be a little subjective and the people who we want to read it might not. Every little will help, though, so I'm in favour of that.

I agree with westhaven, because all we can do is add a sticky post where we knowledge the new comers about what benefits and what not. Because, we cannot stop someone from launching these kinds of business concepts, I do accept amit's concern from one perspective but personally I think we need to address the “cost factor” for SEO works. If we fix standard prices for SEO works and wouldn’t let them go low beyond some fixed flat rates then we may at least stop few of the people from having such wrong business concepts which is affect the whole SEO industry standards. This is not a one day decision or can be taken by few because the industry is vast and people from different countries have the feasibility to offer at cheaper prices because of the currency conversion rates. Ultimately, it’s the best to educate them via a sticky post.

This is true. Perhaps directory lists like DC, DR, BG should only accept some established directories. This is why I think vilesliencer is good as they are very tough over who gets in and who doesn't.

o man since I have not been getting a chance to post on dp ... I missed this post ... yea this has been an issue for a long time. This is only growing because people are submitting to free directories... we all need to stop submitting to them and they will stop.

MAking a sticky post and giving good info of dir or seo in thatthread is ofcourse good idea but you can not fix the price for anyone. Here some people are smart enough to do the under cutting (I mean to say under table)
SO best part would be to have a sticky post.

There's 52,000 free web directories on the internet and now the "braintrust" at DP is going to stop the flow?

    Fellas, it's too late.
